C'mon just upfront tell him if you're not interested b/c otherwise this is kinda mean. Oh! But this could also be how she gathers information? So maybe this is a covert mission, and she's bringing him along?

One could say that she is simply making herself stand out even more, bringing Lord Hell to such a place. So many beauties, but she stands above them all.

If the girl I was interested in dressed like a guy to take me to a brothel or such, I'd probably say "After you." Either she's not prepared to follow through with that or it was her plan all along, who am I to judge?

This is the guy who kidnapped her to be forced labor, and you feel sorry for this little? XD

@Aniryu I'm a month late, but screw it.

Ya know I am really torn. What he pulled at the start was a dickbag move for sure. I can understand why he did it and might not have seen it as wrong:
1 - He is a powerful person, they tend to have a skewed sense of morality.
2 - He was potentially/probably dying from a poison no one seems to be able to cure.
3 - Depending on how the culture is in that time/area it may have been a common practice.
4 - From what the other "workers" were saying it actually wasn't that bad of a gig if you didn't mind it. Probably a better working environment than a lot of them could ever expect.

Granted, the above doesn't excuse what he did, it was still 100% a dickbag move. He could have at least asked for help/tried to hire her first before resorting to kidnapping.

I think the reason people feel sorry for him is that the kidnapping is kinda forgotten/glossed over/she doesn't seem to hold it against him. In addition he seems to genuinely care for her, but is so dense/inexperienced/awkward when it comes to wooing her. He seems to legit be trying to, but is getting stonewalled without being flatley and directly rejected. At no point that I can remember has she said "Nah bro, I have no interest in you. I don't want to be your lover/wife/partner/accomplice". She has kinda implied it with her actions, but I don't think he knows enough to be able to pick up on that. Mostly she seems to sidestep/avoid it rather than confront it.

People are very easy to sway in the heat of the moment, where all previous incidents are forgotten. You mentioned it, but the kidnapping incident really was glossed over and used to be a sort of comic relief. Still happened, though. Even if the working standards weren't bad, did anyone ask her? Does she not have a life on her own, a place to be, a family to protect? The ML might not think he did wrong, but that doesn't mean he was right.

As soon as someone falls in love, they're immediately the most pitiful person to others no matter the methods used. And I kinda hate that.
And body language say more than words, so his lack of EQ is really worrying... but these 'cold, unfeeling' MLs are typically romanticized sociopaths for some reason.
God, I'm making my reply so negative, I don't even really have any bad feelings for the guy haha! He can be cute, and both of the leads seem equally dense.
Just got a bit surprised with everyone blindly taking his side.

@Aniryu Yea the cold, borderline sociopathic MLs were something I never got. I can understand the appeal of a cold & distant ML, but not a borderline abusive one. Some Webttons/Manga can do it well, but that is rare. That was one reason I liked the :Duchess's 50 Tea Recipes". The ML was cold and distant, and understandably so once you learn some things, but he was never really abusive. He just didn't care.
