@Kaarme I mean, it'd be a helluva ballsy move on the author's part to kill the titular character off just 6 chapters in, but it's also an even better way to alienate the vast majority of your audience who are likely reading for said character. As a writer myself, I really can't blame most authors for not going that route; especially since the main character is the one you've (usually) labored the most on and, while it may be tons of fun to torment them for our readers' enjoyment, the idea of actually killing them off before the story is complete is physically painful.
Plus, most people prefer happy endings and in a story like this, that can only happen after many chapters of Lourié's fluffyness.
