Wowee I've been tracking the unofficial mixtape of songs referenced in the story, and now there's an official one! 6 of the 10 official tracks were not called out in story.
RE: Weezer controversy. You can like Weezer or not, that's up to you. What I want to talk about is a phenomenon I've observed in Weezer listeners over the years. That is: People hate the new Weezer album until years later when they realized it was catchy af. I was a young teen when the Blue Album debuted, and half the tracks were played on the radio constantly. Everyone liked that album. I swear they mailed it directly to your house along with a shaving kit when you turned 13.
Then Pinkerton dropped and the vibe was different. Much darker and whinier than the blue album. A lot of fans didn't like it. But then came Green, people hated that album but remember Pinkerton fondly. After Green was Maladroit, which sucked, but Green had some catchy tunes like Island in the sun, etc. It repeated each time a new album dropped.
