Yeah I figured this is what was happening. It's also not clear just how much (or little) Aya has been hanging out with them since. Chizuru feels left behind since she doesn't share those same interests, it happens (and it can be hard to talk about or bring up).

I really like this series, I had it on the back burner but I marathoned all of it at once. Certainly not perfect but characterisation feels real and well written for the most part.

You've definitely got it right. Whether or not I like the drama, I like that Aya is doing something productive about it.

This is pretty typical teenage girl friendly dynamics. You grow up with a bff and suddenly a new friend with similar interests or a boyfriend comes along and suddenly you talk and hangout less. It seems silly in hindsight but the feeling of rejection and abandonment, imo, is portrayed pretty realistically for high school.

That said Mitsuki really giving up the tickets to help Aya and Chizuru figure their shit out huh.
