Not for being "arrogant" or "prideful" Less would be less cringe, and the talk about it being "childish", we get it that MC is regressed but seriously. "poison" is kind of cheap and should be "offended"
This is just some nitpicking- also mothers. Children have ears, I get the Empress is whimsical but at least move so that kids would not be in earshot. Children hear better than adults, MC understand big word- should be somewhat concerned when it's a suggestive topic. It only pokes fun at the readers than add something to the story.
BUT props to Empress mum! being clear with her kid in this situation is important. but lemme be a skeptic. does he know that mum was not the perpetrator? he doesn't even seem to resent his tutors because he's be drilled that "this is expected" awww... I'm smoll sad now
