Isn't she possessed by whatever entity is in the POV thingy? I thought there was a chapter where that is established
Really? Doesn't remember that at all but still a good theory tho. Umakin (the horse doll) hasn't been seen for a long time now. Tho that wouldn't explain why Hina story are more optimistic than him if she's possessed by a malevolent spirit
It's at the end of chapter 40. She comes at night on all fours to return the horse doll and looks back at the reader with her eyes and mouth blacked out. No way is she unaffected by whatever ritual the boy is doing.

It's all over. No matter how fast I run, no matter where I hide, the grim specter of death reached out its icy hands towards me incessantly. My mind is shattered, my body is battered. Whether in ice or fire, it will all end soon. Death, death, death.

....but before all that stuff, onto the 59th story I've been dying to tell you!

From what i can muster, it seems telling 100 horror stories is a ritual to summon a youkai or demon.

Having seen multiple occasions of supernatural event in MC’s life, the demons seems trying get him complete the ritual and remove the obstacle by offing the policeman and attacking the (step?)parent.

I hope Hina didn’t get dragged into the horrors to come.

Reread back the first chapter, it seems Hina is the one telling MC about the ritual. Hmmmmmmm

Umakin is seen though. It's right there, on the bed.

Hina is so precious, i hope everything will be alright.
the slave guy tied his head to the door but the body still does what it was taught to do and accidentally ripped it's own head off, without head it couldn't think of answering the phone and all it does is going to where the "owner" is, it doesn't intend to kill it's owner or anything, just doing what it was taught to do, i think

Thanks for the chapter.

To think that the last thing that bullied kid heard was the ringing of his phone, the sound of his daily bullying, as the last sound he ever heard before his body wrenched off his head when it took off. And that was the only way he could think of freeing himself. gives me chills.

Even after seeing what Yuuma wanted to hide the most, Hina still returned to help. That sort of kindness makes me wonder, is there way out of this where both are unscathed?

I see pills by the hung head on page 14, but I'm guessing the letter beside the phone is a suicide note too?
