Adonis is right that he needs to purge both sides and cleanse the earth, and it's not even for the sake of Chloe (so she can be revived in the perfect/pure world she deserves) but the world itself.

I mean, what's the motive of both party? What pushed humans to such lengths? What's the emperor's backstory? This story could be so much more if there was some depth to at least one character, because so far it's just haha magic go BOOM and haha guns go piupiu!

Funny how there's a dichotomy of this manga having no depth and being too confusing. I lean more towards it not having enough depth. Adonis led the humans to the witches' sanctuary so that he can take out both sides at the same time. Seems simple enough.

I guess everyone here forgot the last chapter, where it was revealed that Chloe had no where to belong, so you can infer the the witches outted her.

In other words, MC probably feels humans and witches are both trash
