The moment when you tell someone about the part of the world culture that interests you, but your friends see in this only a set of cliches from popular films. Oh, how familiar it is. The same goes for the classics. Although I came into music already being familiar with many genres and possibilities, it was a complete shock to me to discover that symphonic music does not end with Wagner and Tchaikovsky, lol

Soo I guess Keira is from Nordics countries too? I feel bad for her when Rebecca and Kanade said about the popular manga and movie in their countries. But I'm glad she opened up to Kanade!

Keira might be my new favourite character! ❤️ Her story seems really interesting. Super excited to see the choreo she comes up with for Kanade! 👀

Keira seems very passionate about Norse stuff. She couldn't stop talking once she got going. Does mean she is possibly a harsh task master with her dances perhaps because she's so passionate about it. Also did like how different people had different sources of Norse stuff, with even a Marvel reference.
Again too, a nice showing of the language issues when she got very passionate and spoke very quickly, causing Kanade to stop understanding and for Evelen to even struggle from the accent.

I was going to say that Kanade way more Sei Shonagon than Murasaki Shikibu, Pillow Book was unironically very fun to read^^

@Carmichael Personally my preference is for As I Crossed a Bridge of Dreams. I actually think there's something relevant for it since Lady Sarashina starts off recalling her youth (around Kanade's age) and being a total fangirl of Tale of Genji and longing and fantasizing about having romantic adventures like in that story.

@Suben Sarashina to me is the best of the 5 great diaries, which makes sense since she built her diaries off the other 4 foundations. But it's also very personal like you say, it's a story entirely while the Pillow Book is less tangible and more a collection of thoughts and feelings. Shonagon is also very playful, she literally dances in the Heian society, enjoying the spotlight, while both Sarashina and Shikibu are more timid.

Hold on......DID KEIRA JUST SAID SHE WATCHED THE ENTIRE DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN??? Holy Jesus Madlass, watching an entire 15 hrs opera. I cant even finish the 2nd opera (Die Walkure). But man, Keira is kinda cute with that behaviour, getting all nerd out and then just get embarassed because of it.
