Did a double-take when I saw this novel cover on mangadex. Stoked for this. Thinking about the story they really don't need to cut much at all to make it work in a manwha. Hopefully they don't fumble it.

Rare sight of there not being a cover for a manga:

This adaptation is pretty bad. The events are really rushed and you don't get much of a sense of the emotional struggles the characters are going through (which is basically the main point of the story). The art is also underwhelming, being a typical case of only the character design being slightly good and everything else being bad. If you're interested in the story and don't mind reading novels, you should read the novel.

NOTE: If your have read the novel, don't read this manhwa as it may ruin your mood. Not trying to be a critique here but I think they are also going for this fun, comedic light hearted adaptation of the novel. Though I'm sure it will destroy it's charm especially since tragedy is the genre that it suppose to revolves in. Now with the current chapters its becoming more like a generic type webtoon.

havent read the parent work
hard to believe the issue is the adaptation and not the work itself
to spoil, the title gets shit on by chapter 13(?) and if its happening that early on is it truly a spoiler?
-i leave that up to the thinnest of skinned MD mods to crucify me over
but ye... guess the author decided he didnt want to commit to THE TITLE really early on.
everything else was already a bland and forgettable read
hardly different from i have a harem but yandere as far as how dull it feels

The premise sounds interesting but reading a long strip on anything that’s not a phone is a pain, so I’ll skip this

This is so bad that it’s almost unintentionally good.
The pacing is terrible, the plot has massive holes, and the illustrations chosen to accompany the narration are cringeworthy.
I found myself chuckling several times at the poor execution of the scenes, such as when the protagonist, in a tight spot, questions whether he will be able to win a difficult fight, only to defeat his opponent with a single blow in the next panel without breaking a sweat. Likely because the artist doesn't know how to draw action scenes.

Frey in the LN: Sweet and cunning mastermind
Frey in the manhwa: every other dense secretly op isekai protag

Seriously this might be sacreligious but frey turned from Lelouch to Shadow ffs. Bro might as well be living in his fantasy.

The story is also rushed asf to the point where everything just happens on coincidence. Worst part is definitely barely any internal monologue which really flesh out the chracters in their entirety.

Wow this is really rushed. They really did squeeze like 50 wn chapters into 15 longstrips. 💀💀💀 Still gonna read tho.

This adaptation is really bad. It is rushed and the characters aren't depicted right. The main character is more smart and cunning but is kind in the novel but here he is kind of stupid. The rush skipped lots of emotional parts.

Believe me the issue is the adaptation. You're correct on how the title gets shit on by chapter 13 but in the original novel the pacing is better and not rushed so it comes out in the right time I think. Also the parts where the girls realize why the mc is doing these things are more emotional and sad in the novel. In this it was more skipped over and wasn't sad at all. In the first place this novel is a emotional novel and how they made it not sad at all shows how the adaptation is the issue. I recommend you read the parent work as it is pretty good.

Nah, the adaptation is the issue, the novel was FAR better. The adaptation doesn't convey the emotions as well as the original work, mostly due to the large amount of skipped scenes, which makes it far less enjoyable.

Adaptations being the issue shouldn't come as a surprise unless you are new to reading this kind of media. Be aware that can be the issue with most trash stories you experience and that the author might simply be the victim to shitty publishers and the original work could be a master piece. Also the original work could be a type of novel that will take like 30 minutes of reading just to finish one chapter and then you also find out there are like 200 hundred chapters each with roughly the same quantity of reading.

That last part is just my experience.
