Maybe it is the adaptation that’s shitty, but does the novel ever explain why the 5 heroines never question why the MC has a major personality change for no reason when he should’ve been acting like a relatively normal person before? I‘m sure he’s acting very different than pre-time travel. You’d think they’d deduce something, even if it’s not true, like thinking that he also time traveled?

This adaptation is pretty bad. The events are really rushed and you don't get much of a sense of the emotional struggles the characters are going through (which is basically the main point of the story). The art is also underwhelming, being a typical case of only the character design being slightly good and everything else being bad. If you're interested in the story and don't mind reading novels, you should read the novel.
i read the novel a while ago and seeing frey act like idiot is pissed me off , in the novel frey more depress . if u take a look to the prologoe of this manhwa , he way more diffefent than this.

Gods I normally tolerate at best these harem type stories.

Yet this one feels especially egregious because the Main Character quite literally killed everyone via betrayal ! With all the female leads remembering all the harm, and evil he both directly and indirectly assisted in committing!

You don't just "forgive" that sorta stuff within even a year's span or more! Let alone fall in love with said destroyer, and be open to a polygamy type relationship!

Its beyond simply being stupid or unrealistic. Its just shit writing with a shit plot.

so far seems kinda meh
pacing is a mess and characters aren't well developed
i dont read LNs, but if i ever do start, ill try this one out since people in comments seem to actually rate the LN fairly good

They also know that he time travelled, but obviously they want to kill him since for all they know, he betrayed them. If they didn't think he time travelled, they could just brainwash him or something since they still need a hero to kill the demon lord, they wouldn't go straight to murder.

For the people here who say that this is just a bad adaptation, I have a few questions. Is there no system in the novel that takes away almost all agency from our MC? Does our MC not kill and betray everyone he loves just because of some prophecy? Do the people he kills not fall in love with him in the end?

I hate this shit about 'the adaptation of the novel is worse, read it and you'll understand,' because, in the best-case scenario, it's the same shit. But often, it's far worse than the adapted version due to a simpler plotline and dumber characters.

The heroines think Frey completely lost it after his mother died.

The whole acting evil started when he was a child after his mother died which was years before his regression. It also involved using some memory manipulation on himself and the girls to make things easier for himself.

If your problem is with the even themselves and not the execution, then you're probably going to hate the novel too because it's mostly the same events but with better pacing, execution and characters. The manhwa does skip/delays some important info about the prophecy and the system to like chapter 20 when it wa in chapter 1 of the novel.
The fact that it's a game world. The 1st hero was a gamer who got reincarnated in an extremely hard game "Dark Tale Fantasy" and barely got a happy ending, but the game had a sequel described as a "dogshit game" and "made by the developers to torture the players", Frey is the MC of said sequel and the prophecy is basically a guide of the game wrote by his ancestor. He also never interacted with his ancestor iirc, the prophecy was written down and contained a lot information that made it obvious that the one who wrote it had actual knowledge of the future.

I'm someone who hasn't read the original novel. It honestly seems okay to me so far. Nothing amazing or very new, but I've enjoyed it so far

They don't know that he is the hero. Also his mental strength is at max so mind manipulation magic won't work on him.
