Ok.. one thing I'm a little confused about.. the head maid said that slaves clothes are washed in URINE??? That is absolutely flabbergasting. Not only would the maids and workers around the palace STINK worse than a pack of mangey dogs, but urine is biological waste, its all the used up and unnecessary junk that the body doesn't need anymore. Having to wear and handle that stuff would make the workers unbelievably sick, they'd be essentially killing their own staff for no reason. So.. imma pretend I dint see that.. cuz it makes no sense and makes me want to vom thinking about it..

Wonder why the princess wants the head maid to harass the MC so much? In any case, the head maid is definitely deliberately giving terrible jobs to the MC and setting her up to be punished for things aware she doesn't know and hadn't bothered explaining. Although would like to see what happens when Jax asks the head maid what MC has been doing and finds out about the bullying. Would probably order head maid to properly explain what and how to do things rather than leave MC hanging and set up for unearned punishments but not stop it.
@Olotea Actually urine was used in pre-industrial times for cleaning. A component in the urine breaks down into ammonia which can help clean things although to prevent the smell it would have to be washed again, or at least rinsed out. Also, the clothes are for slaves, not servants like maids and butlers, so urine is probably the cheapest thing they can use to wash the stuff. That and only other slaves are likely to wash the clothes, except for bullying and punishments, so perception likely is to spend as little as possible on feeding and caring for the slaves while dumping all the gruesome and disgusting jobs on them.
