We are going to get a free completed version of the chapter in a day or two from NASS anyways. Why would we settle for a sloppy stolen version only uploaded out of spite to cause drama?

What happened the first time? This is my first time seeing a drama in this translating group & their chapters are really high-quality (if I do say so myself), but does this possibly have something to do with the change of leaders? Cuz I've noticed that Jessational doesn't usually post the chapters for NASS & is not part of the group anymore...

I'm just curious & I didn't expect there to actually be drama while translator groups make a chapter...

@choochoo Barely any of it's complaining just about the quality. It's about someone stirring shit and people getting pissy for them bringing their drama shit here, and doing it with shit quality when there is a group doing it with good quality already. There is no sense of entitlement here, it's a sense of wanting the drama to stay away from the scans, because it tends to interfere with the good groups, and has lead to mangas getting dropped by groups with no guarantee that they get picked up by the sniper.

For what it's worth, I can sympathize that if you're really experiencing toxic behaviour from a large scanlation group there is very, very little you can do to call them out. The vast majority of people will simply not care as long as they get their chapters (as evidenced by the many, many posts above to that effect). Sniping a single chapter of a series they translate is certainly going to draw a lot of attention.

However, realistically it's not going to achieve anything. A ton of people are going to automatically side with the people giving them chapters, even if they're lovely or arseholes, and it's likely you're going to get moderated under the conduct rules regardless.

All I'll say is that I hope we see less situations like this in the future, from all parties.

Edit: And to the people whining about snipers killing series; that's clearly not what they're going for here. Low quality snipers killing series really do get my blood boiling, but this is essentially a very loud callout message instead of an attempted translation takeover. Of course, I'll eat my words if they really do continue to release more LQ chapters, but that doesn't seem like their previous MO.

Well... I'm gonna be honest, that screenshot is not enough to show any stories or even qualified as proof. And I'm speaking as someone who heard all kind of story about NASS on reddit and forum. If anything all that SS does is showing you as someone who wants to cause drama. Full conversation is required for this kind of thing.

Not only that, some of us don't even care about the quality, you have 2 extreme types of releases, the ones that are carfully redrawn, clean and written like a published book, and then you have the ones that look like shit, text over the original ones, and the grammar of a 5 year old. What most people would like is a quality release, but there are some that conform with quick scans because they are interested in the story more than anything. But doing something like this is just rude.
