a "bottomless lake" usually refers to a lake that has a swampy bottom that you sink into. ( or it's just REALLY deep )
If you actually get stuck in it, it can be hard to get out on your own and it's not that uncommon that people drown because they are unable to get out.
Imagine the fictional version of quicksand( because real quicksand is nowhere near as dangerous) at the bottom of a lake.

Those credits are pretty funny if you're from the UK and perhaps pushing up the average MD user age.

When I saw the surname Dibley, I couldn't help but think of the sitcom The Vicar of Dibley, a show based around an idyllic English village that's about to be brought screaming into the modern age when a female vicar turns up.

And it threw me even more when it mentioned Damn French names, and the font made me think of Dawn French - the comedian & actor that plays the vicar in the above show.

Drowning is often described as one of the most painful experiences imaginable, the only plus about such a death is how quickly you loose consciousness once water starts to fill your lungs.

Yeah, i guess that would be the case. It's just drowning is usually portrayed without pain being referenced directly, so that was kinda new to me.

@Elmithian It is painful sure, but I find it more terrifying by far than painful especially if it is darkker water and you've lost orientation. I've "drowned" to the point of needing cpr twice and my cousin even worse to the point he sustained brain damage. I would say dying from not being able to shit and or urinate is equivalent in pain to how terrifying drowning can be. I had an event where I couldn't go be for a little over 24 hours but my bladder still filled. I couldn't push the piss out no matter what I did

Hah, so... Robert is one thing, somewhat deserved it for the way he was going on it, but it could be said to be an accident. It still was caused by his prejudice and fucking dumb "let us teenager clear the mysterious case even the adults havent cleared yet"-attitude, because of course a dumb teenager always thinks he is the smartest...

The teacher however absolutly deserved it, without a doubt, she kicked her back in, murdering her outright. The way of killing her by drowning in slime-girl is quite poetic in a way :3

But why was she sitting next to a death trap to begin with? And with a pet monster that could’ve easily fallen in it too?

You know, it’ll be nice if the mysteries do wrap up nicely in the end, but some stuff here looks a bit out of place, and that’s usually a sign of an author that’s biting more than they can chew.

I’m no longer sure if this author knows what they’re doing in regards to the mystery aspect of this story, but I am willing to be proven wrong.

The moe and slice-of-life are fine though. Chloe is adorable.
