What the hell, man? I understand you want to go back, but don't you even feel a shred of sadness?

Shin feels bad that he will leave his friends and the people he traveled with, but he wants to go back, he's the one who has been left behind (along with the other devas). It's not like he suddenly lost everything in his original world.

It's not like this story was made about him finding a way of going back although that may be the ending eventually. Currently we're only searching for the mysteries of this world and what happened, perhaps we will shift onto a more active mindset of how to get back later, but this story isn't specifically about finding a way to return.

Tbf he already stated that he wanted to go back and when he did he mentioned a promise that he did or something like that if I remember correctly so he has a good reason to want to leave that we just don't know yet. Other that the basic reason who is that it seems pretty logical to want to go back to your own world with your family and all you know and not stay in a world that you most likely still consider just as a part of a game.

Speaking of which, we hardly know anything about Shin's player companions. If he had any he was close with, he'd probably most likely want to be back with them, instead of NPCs that were given life more recent in his life. He cares for them all, sure, but in the end, the people he grew up with are probably more important.

I really hope he has a change of heart or the mangaka allows him to take her back to his world

In the Light Novel Shin Decides to stay with Schnee as a couple and the story is still ongoing as of the latest volume came out a few weeks ago and it seems like itll keep going for a pretty long while

this is all so dramatic but with Shins stats if he decided to actually go all out then the match would be so anticlimactic because it would be over in a second😭

It would be funny if he actually, at the very end of this series, did find a way back, but just like in this fantasy world, 500 years had already passed also in his original world. Every reason why he wanted to go back would have passed away hundreds of years ago. In fact, whatever he had there would have also disappeared since he would have been declared dead centuries ago. So, he would be penniless and without an identity in some scifi world. Unless it was all just radioactive desert with rats as the highest life form. He would be left there, crying all alone, with the way back to the fantasy world closed as well.

I’m thinking that maybe it’s where the world he’s at now has a much faster time than his old world. He wouldn’t be aware of it since he’s living in it but that’s the only hope I can think of if he wants to go back

I can respect Shin's ambition of wanting to go back to the real world. He struggled alongside with his actual human companions in the Death Game they were in only for him to be left behind. And there's that promise that still wasn't expanded upon in the earlier chapters.

It's like the game world that became his current reality is challenging his will of wanting to return to the original world by giving him almost everything (power, NPCs that gained ego) a man would desire.

And then he suicides from the sheer depression of it all, and is reincarnated into another world...

Ouch. That bitter look on Girard's mouth says it all. I know Schnee already knows because she had that talk with him first, but if she were to hear it again...

Maybe I was hoping coping for an answer like "I'll try to bring Schnee with me" but that would mean he was either lying to Schnee or lying to Girard if he were to say that. To be fair to Shin, we have no clue about his life outside the game either. For all we know he has a family and even a lover waiting for him to wake up. Although it would be strange for him not to think of his IRL lover at least once if he had one.

I'm glad Cuore could come to an understanding about her living ancestor's final wish. It is understandably not an easy thing to accept. It takes maturity to do so, and she seems to be growing up well.

It would have been nice to show flashbacks of Shin's relations in the real world just to justify why he's so desperate to go back. We can imagine that he has loved ones he wants to return to, but since we can't see them, his response sounded quite ruthless.
