It feels like lazy audience bait because it's like "let's make the MC thoroughly win simply via basic human decency." It doesn't require the MC to do anything extraordinary or difficult, nor does it require them to be rich/handsome/successful/charming/whatever things are usually attributed to normies and "better" classes of people. It only requires them to not be a scumbag, which is like the barest minimum positive social trait that almost everyone should possess. This makes the self-insert easier because anyone reading, no matter how much of a loser they might think they are, is likely to think "I'm a decent person! I could be compassionate and empathetic and get a hot waifu to fall hopelessly in love with me!"

I'm still gonna read because I'm a sucker for cute oni wife, but this feels like it's hard into the follow-the-leader audience baiting trend train.
