@bigtiddyoneesan @BestBoy My hottake is that Zeph isn't as authoritarian/ban-happy as everyone says. Like sure he's locked more than one thread I wish had kept going, and he's definitely more willing to exercise his power than other mods, but I think that he's open to pretty much any chat/conversation as long as it remains civil or respectful, playful banter aside. He's better than some moderators I know from different websites...
Though, I may be biased a bit because I'm also on the left, at least socially.
@Ceildric
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Fault of human psychology because trends don't apply to everyone, as much as we like to lump demographics together. It's also kinda a limitation that young people tend to want to change things or make alterations, and older people want things to tend to change less, considering how its the older people that made changes in their youth and want those changes not to be undone.
Ironically, the fact I want to breakup big trusts in the tech industry that have proven themselves to be bad actors, want protections of freedom of speech and expression to apply to businesses once they reach a certain size, and that I want universal laws that are more concerned with meritocracy instead of race, gender, etc. gets me painted often as someone on the right. Despite all of these being liberal position as early as ten-to-twenty years ago.
