  • NoScript - turn on JavaScript. If you're blocking any scripts at all, you may break site functionality, but indiscriminately blocking JS will give you a loading circle and nothing else.

  • Firefox - 56 and prior are unsupported, update to the latest version.
  • Basilisk/Palemoon - Completely unsupported. Further discussion in this thread. Fixed in version 32.2.0 of Pale Moon, Basilisk will get the same fix, all prior versions of both browsers are unsupported.
  • Waterfox Classic - Completely unsupported.
  • Waterfox (not Classic) - works great (G5 is based off Firefox ESR 102)
  • Librewolf - works, but by default it will wipe all site settings and log you out whenever the browser is closed.
  • Librefox - The browser itself is no longer supported, the last update was four years ago, migrate to Librewolf.

  • Edge (Legacy) - update to Edge Chromium, original Edge is officially out of support and unmaintained. If you're on Windows Mobile, buy a new phone, the platform as a whole is dead.

  • Chrome - version 101 and prior have terrible image scaling, 98-100 specifically are horrifying, update to the latest version.
  • Chrome on Android 7.0 and older - this will have SSL certificate errors caused by missing Letsencrypt's X1 root certificate. If you cannot access this link without errors, you are experiencing this issue. Update to Android 7.1.1 or newer, use a browser with a built-in certificate store (Firefox) or if you're really desperate you can download the certificate (Active -> ISRG Root X1 -> Self-signed -> PEM) and install it yourself manually.

  • Safari - Safari 12 is no longer supported, Safari 13.1 (iOS 13.4 or newer) is the oldest supported version. Safari updates are tied to iOS updates, so if your device doesn't support iOS 13 you're out of luck and will need to buy something newer as Apple block browser updates for devices they no longer support. If you're on a Mac, just download Chrome/Firefox. Also, all versions of iOS Safari will have issues loading extremely large images, but this has mostly been mitigated with the 10k height limit in v5. Very high resolution chapters may still have issues (4k x 6k images will consistently crash the tab) and this cannot be fixed until Apple stop skimping on RAM. Related note: All devices that support iOS 13 also support iOS 15, so just update to that and get two years of browser updates installed.

  • UC Browser - no longer works, no updates in a year and a half, presumed abandoned. Move to a different browser.

  • Internet Explorer - Pick a new browser.

Feel free to add more to the list, the goal is to have a known blacklist of bad browsers/versions so users can be told why they're having issues with MD.

2023/02/12 - Nuxt 3 update changelog;
  • Basilisk/Palemoon - technically works, massive performance issues, lots of cosmetic issues Completely unsupported.
  • Waterfox Classic - technically works, even worse performance/cosmetic issues than Basilisk/Palemoon Completely unsupported.

  • Safari - Safari 12.1.3 is technically supported and just about works, older versions of Safari 12 may work, Safari 11 and older will not work. Safari 12 is no longer supported, Safari 13.1 (iOS 13.4 or newer) is the oldest supported version.

  • UC Browser - no longer works, no updates in a year and a half, presumed abandoned. Move to a different browser.
