Now I think you've made an interesting point because that is what a lot of people would think. I mean when you play stat based game like this you usually dedicate yourself to a role. If you're a DPS you deal damage so you should put all your points in making yourself deal more damage, if you're a spell-caster you cast spells, so you shouldn't waste time learning weapon skills. This is especially true in multiplayer games where you have other players to take up other roles. Like someone who is a dedicated tank, or a dedicated healer.

What I think we're forgetting here is that the protagonist is not in a video game, he is in another world with an extremely high mortality rate. So in his case the last thing he'd want to do his hyper specialize. Rather he'd want to be able to everything he can to increase his chances of survival. To have a way of fighting back, to have a way to endure being hit, to have a way to recover when hit. Basically he is trying to solo a five man dungeon on hardcore mode. He can't afford to be something like a priest or a warrior which excels in one area, he needs to be more like a paladin or a druid, adaptive, and able to fulfill multiple roles.

@weebycunt That's what they called unbalanced.
Like if you are 2h swordman, you need full STR only and became fragile as thin as piece of junk

this is why Goddess said "he always serious about anything", the goddess believe he gonna choose the skills wisely, no matter how hardcore gamer you are, the moment you got reincarnated and got skills, most people would choose 'badass' and 'awesome' skills first, then basic and passive skills later, even tho they choose correctly, they usually got carried away and die.

and previous reincarnators probably thinks game-terms still applied, they choose spesific skills and class, they restrict themselves with game logic, while MC, like Goddess says, seriously thinking what best for him to survive, besides he's not hardcore gamer (he probably knew games, but not that well versed in, a casual) so he choose 'all rounder' or 'jack of all trade'-like build, since there's no restrictions like game does, so yeah, he become cheat character ~

as for skills like limit breaker, the goddess also says if you choose your skills correctly, it gonna open hidden skills, [limit breaker] and [Demon Sword] probably few of hidden skills that Goddess talking about...

the skill Sp counter doesn't make any sense. it should be 4 →70 right?

if not, he just lose 4 Sp without knowing. 🤣

Nah, it's probably a typo by author because someone above said that in novel sword skill cost 5 SP. I guess author forgot or didn't bother to fix previous number.

@Seraph_best_girl = a sword that is not better than a sword you can buy in a shop should not cost much skill points. So either this sword has no downside, or it has to be a lot better than ordinary swords.

@weebycunt - luck is a very, very important stat. There is no end to adventurers who died because they were unlucky, and adventurers who found success by chance.
The question is, how balanced the system is, and how much luck did MC get. Probably utterly unbalanced, especially if that god was the one who made it. Which means our MC has a 50% chance of marrying a princess and getting a kingdom to rule.

Its not as common now or even in video games, but you can typically take a disadvantage for the point buy. I would see what im willing to live with and take that for more points

In the case of all other points, I would take general passives over actives, then go for actives.
If mmos taught me anything, I would rather take skills to get passives up 20% then tak an active that increases things by 60 temporarily because I cant prepare for an oh shit with actives

I would be looking for sleep related passives, waste related, and exp/skill gain + first, best case scenario im safe to choose and I can deal with lower initial skills because I will gain them faster than normal

if I am in a shit situation, I would be looking at min maxing my initial survival. limit break is one I would pick up either way, either I am going to get to the top and I want to go further, or im at the bottom and it would do something like take my strength from a 5 to a 10 for that encounter, either way it seems like a useful skill, if not in self preservation at the low end, at allowing me to keep being strong at the high end.

Somebody could spoil me the catch for the sword (No seriously, naming a skill demonic is pretty much a giveaway that there is a huge downside)

Ah, disappointing. Another MC who doesn't know struggle and gets a bunch of skills for free. The monster design was pretty good at least, I guess...
