This development is fine but they've spent a little too long with the discussion. That discussion could have been pared down heavily if it was going to end up with MC leaving and planning his own revenge anyways, but it looks like its going to take ages before MC even does anything with his home village at this rate.

Something I noticed after reading the WN, but why does the manga have so many stupid and silly panels? Like during the interrogation chapters, the characters expressions are drawn way over the top sometimes, or things like the guild master opening the door and hitting the MC, it look like panels straight out from some comedy manga. Who decided it was a good idea to include those in a scene discussing punishment for attemped murder?

Reading the novel, I felt the overall tone was different. MC is still sarcastic at times, but thats about it. I'm not sure how far the manga will adapt, but i'm definitely NOT looking forward to seeing important scenes, when MC goes back to his home island for example, being butchered in the manga with dumb jokes.

Exactly, this isn't a comedy series. There's no reason to add all those dumb jokes that started since this stupidly long ass negotiation discussion. It dropped from a fine to horrible tier series in an instant.

Really tried to enjoy this, but the mood keeps jumping between serious, edgy and comedic all over the place. The pacing is sometimes quick as hell or slow as hell when it doesn't need to be. And the MC is just becoming entirely unlikeable more for being annoying than any kind of villain. Hopefully it gets better, but as it is, I'll probably end up dropping it.

welp, if anyone was looking forward to more chapters, got some bad news, it got axed (at least this version did, from what I could find these long hiatuses were due to issues on the artist's part, could be wrong tho) and in the announcement that was included with the release of ch 10 it was stated that the serialization will restart at some point. Probably with a different artist I guess.

Dude can't make his mind! I have an impression that he's mostly whining about people being rude or not accepting him! When it's mostly his fault! I mean, no one owns you anything! Yeah, it sucks how his family doesn't have an unce of compassion, but he knew about it, moreover if was accepted into that environment he would be delighted, since it's a strength based society! His friends,and guild, turned on him, but he didn't improved in years! the first half was actually good. him recognizing their past good deeds and still grateful to it, not swept-under-the-rug like so many other revenge stories go. Of course you can feel grateful but still draw the line.

but then the tonal whiplash into cringy, edgy boi with stupid face... wish those get toned down, since it clash horribly with the rest of the chapter
