"Light" in light novels refers to the reduced usage of complicated kanji that are rarely used in live. It has nothing to do with the book's contents, it's genres or tropes, or whether it's written from a first or third point of view. And obviously it has nothing to do with something as subjective as the quality of the story being 'simple' or 'complex.'
And in cases of titles like OreGairu and Youjo Senki, and Monogatari[/i ] specifically, they break this rule by using a lot of cryptic and unusual kanji that even native readers often point out, basically becoming normal novels being presented as ranobe. If you think that all other Japanese literature is inherently more complicated and complex than LNs, or that every LN is a simple harem isekai, then you clearly have a very limited exposure to Japanese culture as a whole.
All this could've been researched in 10-minute google search. Failing to do something so basic before engaging in the discussion is truly embarrassing. But that's OK. We all were clueless kids once too. That's why there are people that actually know what they're talking about here to help.
