@sdarkpaladin regarding your first question for the third female character introduction was in vol. 14 ch 39 after the massacre of arene, a lot of flight squads had to do some recuperate some members and they pulled three new recruits straight from flight school. It didn't mention that there were one opening but they saw that there were new recruits they took some.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the right flank originally where the empire was but they retreated to go through with this plan? If so, they could've been digging underneath while it was still friendly territory and so wouldn't need to be so secretive about it.

From the empire perspective it would be their left flank trying to sap the right flank of the french. It's basically what happened to irl French, the german broke through the Ardeness, wrap around the combined allied army and push them towards the seas.

People who enjoy the maneuvers and strategy stuff here might also like stepping back a few thousands years and reading Ad Astra - Scipio to Hannibal. Pretty awesome (and accurate) manga rendition of one of the greatest early clashes of military minds in history, which still echoes down to modern military schools even. You can bet the officers of the Empire and Republic both will have studied at least some of that.

I think those tunnels were left BEFORE the retreat. No way they dug tunnels that fast with WW1/2 tech.

Kind of weird that they decided to attack from the south flank, consider the south flank is nothing but mud field.
Not an ideal way to send tanks and infantry to run across.

it's reaching the part where i stopped reading because of
the fact that they let them flee and make a potential rebelion. that was so retarded

Did Isekai France actually march their troops thru Isekai Belgium?
Are we doing the opposite of what happened in WW1 where the invaders are the French trying to sneak a victory against Germany?

...

Is that a Stug and are those Flak 88s? in WW1???

@nomadicengi Proberbly not just a modern map of Europa. easy to see when looking at The Netherland as land that existed barely before ww2 and land that only existed after that are in it.

oh boy, the very first idea from this series came way back when Carlo Zen decide to make a nanoha FIC whoms serve as inspiration
from the fisrt page of WN:
なお本作は、

商業作品では
鷲は舞い降りた
鷲は飛び立った
擲弾兵
皇国の守護者
等々を読み漁り、

(ネットで見れるもの)
やる夫が雪中の奇跡を起こすようです
魔法少女リリカルなのはAnother?Fucking Great?

等々、を最近読んだ勢いで書きあげてしまった。

and the fic:

tl;du if you squint your eyes REALLY hard all came way back from Triangle Heart -> Lyrical Nanoha -> CZ fic -> YS WN

There's no consistency in war tech in manga, probably due to mangaka using photos and such, which is mostly from WW2. So the tech is all over the place even within one army. it doesn't help that LN had almost none of tech description, and just gloss over them as "tanks", "guns", "panes" etc.

Is the guy on the last page English? They're not wearing the French armor, riding the horse things, and he mentions a king.

No, this is basically (although not exactly) what the Wehrmacht did to the Allies in 1940 that lead to the encirclement at Dunkirk. They basically suckered the Allies to advance into Belgium, snack in through the Arden Forest and then hit from the back, encircling the Allies.
