Regarding the king...I mean...So you should just name the second prince the heir, right? It seems pretty cut an dry to me. The prince is causing a bunch of discord, angered the one person this kingdom shouldn't provoke, and all in all proved himself a terrible king candidate.
Unless there's something severely wrong with the second prince, naming him the heir is clearly the way to go.

I think this is the first time the second prince was ever mentioned. The first time we even know he existed. I presume the author might not planned ahead? I doubt they try to elude the lack of influence the second prince had.

They haven’t explained her side much I think. But she’s generally a good girl.

Aria has special aptitude as a mage. It’s explained she’s an innocent bystander that got caught by the summoning. She’s supposed to represent the normal high school girl who had some friends and a loving family and now she’s separated from them. She was devastated when she learned she can’t return to her world, she cries because of this. Idiot prince’s only good point was trying to protect her and keep her safe. Still an idiot though. Aria stuck close to idiot prince and his group because they treated her nice and they protected her.

Unlike the idiot prince, the other prince will just keep an eye on her from a distance. Aria seeks Sei out for advice about what to do since she will be graduating from the academy and doesn’t know what she wants to do as a job. She mentions she wants to learn more magic and Sei recommends the Mage division.

The reason to not support the second prince from the king's side of thing likely has to do with who else is supporting him at the moment. Troublesome nobles seem a bit overdue to show up in this, too so it'd make sense if they were lurking around someone we haven't really seen yet. Reading isekai is like turning over a rock and looking at all the bugs (tropes/cliches) crawling around down there. There's just some you'll find every time.

yeah this was a mess created by the crown prince. He should have been more neutral. He only thought on the ancient time and the heroism he wanted to experience and act as those heroes in those folklores. Yeah, I think Aira is just a good girl. She has a good attribute to be a high rank magician in a few years. Since our saint is an "old woman" [that is what they call to average woman/workers in their mid 20s to mid 30s], the prince went for the high schooler to make her his gf. mhm
