In most other manga/manwa, the overprotective, helicopter mom/guard dog trope that is overly suspicious of who the main character is with would be annoying, but with what happened to Ivona in her past life on top of being told she’s now in a loveless contract marriage, he has every reason to be protective of her. What would be annoying in another story, is actually endearing in this story and does what the trope was meant to do, but usually falls flat on: show how much the protector cares for the well-being of the character in question.
