Nah I reckon it wouldn't sit well with us who are reading it in English as it wouldn't register. The name itself is an English loanword that is localised (spelled and pronounced in a Japanese way) so Poemu is the "correct" way to transliterate it. A similar example would be would be a Russian named Mikhail wouldn't be "translated" to Michael in an English translation.

I dont think the art style is really hard to replicate, it'd probably work the best with scratchy linework, I think its a bit funny to hear that just cause the author's older works always got shit for their bad drawings but hes come a looooong way since molester man and the like.
