she’s definitely need to read the ending of their story. because Kaori herself said she wants both of them won’t have any regret once she leaves this world.

both Kaori and Shizuku might’ve regretted it if none of them able to achieve it (Shizuku finished the novel about them, Kaori able to read the novel until the ending). doubt if the author wants to leave the story like that.
