I mean if I were in their shoes, I would want to leave as well. Hearing your own father saying he wanted to kill you if it wasn't for his own life is frightening. Moreover you were just picked up from a place where you were left to die. And the people around the new place wasn't friendly either. Yes, the brothers were dotting but they're also scary and obviously overpowered them. If something's wrong and they decided the twins are not worthy to protect anymore, they would easily lose their lives.

The twins also didn't know there are people scheming to get rid of them. They only knew that people hated them for being born and being raised as imperial children; there's the more reason to leave. Maybe out there they would find people that doesn't care the illegitimate title they have? People who won't abuse them or wanting to kill them. They probably thought so.

I totally understand them I mean who would not feel so at lost after hearing those words considering that they just kids for now even if their mentality is way beyond their physical age. They have this feeling that they can only rely on themselves in that world of course without prior knowledge hearing those from their father would really hurt a lot. The two kids are behaving like a normal person in their teens would. For a 25/26 year old (their real age) I would think things through a bit more.. Their thought process is a bit naive and childish for their actual age.

I mean, they have a magic instructor and they can learn from him so that they’d be independent.. But living alone at 5/6?? Lol! Even if they were good it’d be easy to take advantage of these weak idiots

@fishtwin Totally disagree because that's not what most isekai presented, Estelle Castiello one of the most relatable example suffering through the same thing (or even worse because she's locked in a tiny box) ever since she was born but her mentality is still strong and wise, mainly because of her past life. Literally every isekai, when already become adults at least they think but that's not the case with these twins, making them act illogical at their original age, it's far understandable if they were a children to begin with.

Overall it's just a shitty writing, or the author just simply write "isekai" as gimmick.

Im not using other stories as a base for my judgement, but on the psychology courses I took in college and personal experience.

I like the story for I Am A Child Of This House but the way Estelle acts is actually abnormal for someone who had been abused.

@fishtwin Nah, being mentally abused as adults doesn't mean you can't even use your brain at all, these twins are thinking like abused kids who never go outside not adults who already went through experience, education and identity. In this situation they didn't even think where and how they'll life after go outside as kids, not even think they actually overhears someone without asking the emperor's full statement and act all suspicious to their brothers yet trusting the words of strangers (the black haired noble father & son) *facepalm totally like stupid kids which make their isekai premise pointless.

Estelle's isekai story is also pointless and gimmicky tbh, the author only use isekai as excuse for her strong and wise mentality and that's it but it's quite logical as some adults minds are stronger than the others.

Seriously I would want to leave too but only after using the chance to learn and develop as much as possible. They can learn magic, swordsmanship, etc and run when their bodies grow enough, even if they were afraid and didn't like anyone they could've just put on an act like Athanasia until the time was ripe to run away. Even though they were 18 in their previous life, they are stuck in children's bodies, think of the emotional and hormonal age their bodies are at- that would greatly influence them add on the abuse and malnutrition for so many years- can't expect them to be so logical and mature with all of that.
