@Motomoto That's the point of the earlier chapters right? When Tia "suggested" that Cedric should be the next emperor and that the other potential successors will bring ruin to the country. He thought he didn't need to get involved in politics and rejected the throne to protect those he had left. Working with Tia meant that he wants to be emperor for the betterment of the country.

I'm just wondering how much influence does Marchioness Camellia have for Roygar to use it to cover the human trafficking?

tbh, I really didn't think. I mean the story could have fallen into the pit of beauty/brains & brawn. It seems MC intends to cultivate him because a he's a good man. he has good wits to solve it on his own than to seek MC. the two have a very healthy relationship so far. and looking at the comments, this is his test going into his relationship with MC. his conviction is amazing! whoo! (MC probs know the gem because of previous life interactions?)
it's interesting that our MC is moderately self-deprecating (because it might've fallen into the trope if it weren't for it?)
also also! RIP to the thicc. I haven't noticed that they were shrinking, maybe because "I see them everyday" except it's opposite is true. the plot is memorable, and his eyebrows shall rest in peace
