She is like the npc that gives you a request to go get water from a well and you end up fighting horrible elder itch abominations on the rings of Saturn after trying to get water
There was the same thing in the Villainess turns the hourglass (casino used for human trafficking). I wonder why. There's no obvious synergy between the two, is there? Money laundering, sure, but dungeon in the basement? Why?
@AlmondMagnum hmm it could make sense. Here is a possibility. They sell slaves to satisfy the nobles with their hobby to kill in their hunting practice, as prostitute to satisfy their desire for sexual intimacy, they could sell them as tools to get someone in exchange. If nobles in of lower class [ the very bottom of the high society stats such a s knights and barons and even some counts could work and/or people in the bourgeoisie class that just got money and bought their title or married into a poor but prestige family] don't pay their debt, they could find a way to make them useful.
@Darkwolfix
My question is why they store them under the casino instead of in a more discrete place.
Drugs in a casino? I get it, at least relatively small amounts for the clients' consumption. Prostitutes? Sure. But unwashed human merchandise who still need to be caged? No.
Not gonna lie, I'm kind of hoping that the MC just wanted some diamond she once heard of. The Duke this entire time has been chasing a non-existent trail of clues.
it's actually based on real life. macau is well known for using casinos for human trafficking. most casinos in asia are run by shady underground types as is and it's no deep secret that they also deal in human trafficking as well.
