You know the best revenge she could do? Actually get her sister to not be a cunt. Stem the tide of hatred before she goes over the edge.

I mean, look at it from the perspective of this rich well to do girl. Her family was invaded by a harlot and her sin baby and lets be honest, our heroine wasn't doing herself any favors. Those around little sis failed her in her upbringing to let her reach a point she's willing to plot someones death. We're supposed to hate her sister because of what she does in the future when the series started, but as I read it, and our heroine consistently bends everything to her favor, the more I realize that I really pity her sister. She's going to get the typical villainess ending, but I'd be more interested in seeing her get redeemed. It isn't until the future that the things she does is particularly malevolent. Up till now, she hasn't done anything particularly terrible, if not mean spirited because her family got encroached upon. Kids do this. Imagine the damage kids with legitimate power could do, and that's the problem here. Boxing her into a corner is only going to make her get more desperate and push forward that future you hate so much. You might not be in the same position, but is it really worth it to put HER head on the chopping block when it could probably be avoided?

@sirflimflam Well said and I couldn't agree more! But I'm guessing the author wanted to "spice" things up with the vengeance theme....redemption - while the best route- may not have given us these many FL-triumphs-over-evil sister's=machinations.. so ....yeah...

Maybe that would work... if Mielle wasn't Mielle and Aria wasn't Aria. Both are bad bitches period.
Mielle seems kinda redeemable cause she is young and doesn't know how to make means to her ends, but she is still far from a poor young lady.
And Aria... well, the webtoon made quite clearly she would rather jump in a pit of hellfire than start to even think about forgiving Mielle.

@sirflimflam you really trying to rationalize why a woman wants the schemer that shamed and killed her mother and herslef dead, like what she gon do, be nice to her?, Mielle already fucking hates Aria, she thinks she's beneath her so she ain't even gon listen to her, so that ain't gonna work, avoid all the schemes she pulled? Maybe if she had gone back to her first instance in the mansion, but at this point the schemes are already going (Jessie was put on charge to spy Aria, the mass spread of the rumors), so that's also out of the question

The way the conflict and characters are written, a everybody is happy ending is impossible, aside from a mere sister rivalry, this is also a assassination revenge and a power struggle in the count's family, they're both set to disgrace each other since day 1

@skellez Preach. If people in this kind of situation could find the power to forgive the person who got them beheaded. All the power to them. But it’s pretty clear Aria’s suffers PTSD from this shit and just can’t forget. Which is entirely fair. I don’t think I could find the find the motivation to try and turn someone who dislikes and and intends on killing me into a good person.

There’s also the fact that Aria will never do good by Mielle, even if she becomes the most proper noble. In her eyes, she’ll always be a dirty prostitutes daughter. Which was evident by the novel. Mielle definitely is not redeemble, despite what people want to believe. Mainly because she herself doesn’t want to be redeemed. And I can understand Aria being bitter about it all.
