Oh, I'm not defending Cain. More like pointing out facts and contradictory behavior of people being disgusted by Cain's incestuous feelings. Also, saying that they are siblings while constantly egging him on with her acts is kind of the issue. She's saying that they're siblings through words, but through actions, she toying with his emotions.

@Missi
Making herself be this helpless and vulnerable girl of beauty that relies on him is just playing with his emotions. Even if she's not actually flirting with him, her actions of acting like she depends on him and relies on him while being all helpless are just getting to his emotions. And she's still playing that despite how she's aware that his feelings for her are growing more and more dangerous.

@Emonex
That's true. His feelings for her aren't healthy in the slightest. It's not a good thing. But honestly, this very fact that they don't even have a sibling like relationship even makes his lust for her more profound. Because he sees her as just a girl, and never a sister. It's basically how they justify things in other incest stories, where the stepbrother says that he doesn't see his stepsister as family.

Playing Cain as some closet pervert is the right move, I think, from a story perspective. He could have been a man caught up in Mielle's schemes, genuinely trying to protect his little sister, but that would've made him a victim in Aria's revenge. Here, he's clearly in the wrong and largely unsympathetic, but his motivations aren't convoluted or hard to understand. His downfall will be sweet.

Aria said it herself about Cain, like father like son. The father marry a prostitute to monopoly her beauty, but do not want to accept that very person as his own family, creating the situation that his child hate the woman and her child, while he avert his eye.

Cain himself like the beauty, love the Aria he see, want to monopoly her, but never consider Aria as a human equal to him. To him, Aria either a child of a prostitute or a young woman living off his family power. So far, Cain treat Aria as something he need to deal with, or take control of. While to Miele, he definitely treat her as a human and his own sister.

I think her actions is more disgusting than him🙄 Just because she's tha FL it doesn't mean that she can act like a saint! The ML is currently engaged but she's dating him, though the fiancé is a villainess she's still the legal fiancé! And didn't she seduced his step brother with her cleavage?🤨 Well she seduced Mielle fiancé before right?

I love this story as the ML is so handsome but that FL is really something😏 throw him just because he is now useless?😒

Really? Seems like it would add more moral grey to the story, showing that Aria's desire for revenge actually hurt actually innocent people that are good at heart. But I guess that would make Aria look bad as a result. Better if the people that get hurt are "evil" so that you don't have to sympathize or care about them.

ML are not engage to anyone, the noble group intend to make a puppet king under Isis control, so the ML are actually her enemy, fighting to regain their royal control. The fiance thing just make up by Isis herself, to gather more power.

In the original timeline, the royal house fall because they take over the casino, then the bad name of royal house gain money from gambler spread, making Isis win.

Of course, Aria action are pretty much villainess, even baiting “currently innocent” people into guilty. But on a whole, she help people with education developement and many “truely innocent” people escape from their bad fate (in a way, Oscar also escape from Isis and Miele manipulation of his life). Which is very ironic that the true purpose is just a villainess want to gain money and power.

@Winter_lily Asher is not engaged with anyone. The Duchy family and the aristocrat party took advantage of Asher's powerless situations to spread rumours about Isis being in engagement negotiations (basically implying she would be engaged with him and later will be the crown princess). Also about Oscar, yes Aria did seduced him, but that happens before Oscar officially become Mielle's fiancee. The moment that the engagement was established, Aria acknowledged the fact that she can't do that any longer, since she realized that the one who held the power in the Duke family is not Oscar but rather Isis.

Also about what you mentioned about cleavage... Aria was in her room at that time? with the excuse of still recovering after being poisoned?? Did you actually honestly think that she was going to wear the full outdoor dress when she was just resting in her room? Aria never even tried to seduce Cain and always talk to him referring to him as "brother", Cain being a pervert is his own mind being dirty.

If you want to try to blame and hate something at least try to get a better reading comprehension first.

I think one thing with Asher, on top of dealing with the thoughts of romantic getting in the way of revenge, is it means Aria has to think about 'what happens afterward' and I think it scares her.

Also the translation of the effects seemed especially great this time, thank you for translating this so well.

@winter_lily this comment is not only wrong story wise (Asher isn’t engaged) but also wrong morally, if you think that a BROTHER has been seduced by HIS SISTER by showing some skin aka cleavage when she was sick and in nightclothes and SHE is at fault for this happening you are disgusting, same excuse people use for r**e victims saying it’s their fault for wearing revealing clothes

Ah, I see that. There's no lie that she is manipulating him to get her on her side for many of her schemes unknowingly, she isn't actively seducing him; simply looking vulnerable and innocent. She may be pulling the strings, but if Cain was just a normal person, he would not have seen her actions as anything more than what he thinks they are in his fantasies. Really, it's on him that he's perceiving her actions in his own perversion for her when if he simply looked at her in a familial sense (which he should have), they would have been normal affectionate family interactions and not romantic gestures.

I agree to an extent but you have to remember who Aria is and the whole point of this manhwa. though I don’t agree with all her actions she’s doing what she has to do to change her fate.The way she acts so kind towards some people is all to get them on her side so she has backup and support to change her fate. Just like how she acts kind to her father she has to put up this act in front of Cain as well to favor her plans. Getting Cain on her side benefits her because it will hurt Mielle (her main enemy and reason for doing all this) and she’ll have more support. It wasn’t her intention to get him to lust for her she just noticed he started to get all doey eyed for her and used it to her advantage. Remember she used to see Cain and Mielle almost as one but once she noticed Cain had eyes for her (before she started toying with him) she used it as a way to get him and Mielle to separate and benefit her future even more. I think it’s wrong for you to say she’s not allowed to feel grossed out especially since she’s not actively flirting with him it’s all on him for seeing his sister in this sexual way instead of trying to build a sibling bond. For example I have half siblings who I don’t have a sibling relationship with either but I would never dare to see them in a lustful way. I see some people trying to excuse incest and it’s nasty.

Omg I wrote so much I’m so sorry

I think you’re forgetting that Cain started to like her even before she started toying with him. I don’t know why you’re defending Cain so much sure he isn’t he worst person in this story but it’s still gross where’s your dignity

There is plenty of blame to go around. Just as Cain oughta behave properly, Aria knows that her constantly playing her "weak, delicate girl" act while knowing her brother's growing feelings for her is the subject of blame as well.
It's not a simple one sided case of Cain being an incestuous incel. Aria herself isn't exactly innocent.

@Middnightsun
Oh, I'm not defending him. But I'm certainly not gonna act like Aria is some innocent girl either. Yeah, Cain lusted for her, but not to the degree that we have now. She's playing with him and using him to separate Mielle from him and thus gain the upper hand on Mielle. She's actively playing with his feelings, even after knowing about said feelings. She's not free from blame, and it's silly that we gotta defend Aria at every turn.

Just cause she's a protagonist doesn't mean that we should pretend her villainous actions are all justified.

As much as I love our ship, I feel like they're kind of bland these past few chapters. Like their scenes together are just there to fill up the quota. I still love them but I wish there are more chemistry, teamwork, and conflicts so we can watch them grow
