I would assume non-villainess story would be from the PoV of the other female character who would not be living in the same household to witness this. & Who knows the level of information travel and/or spy network to facilitate rumor/background info to understand. Doubt he can act like this in public.

Yeah the author of this story kinda screwed up a little too much by making this a "reincarnation into a book" story. Because the book itself wouldn't really be popular in almost any fashion. Who reads a harlequin romance about a girl who is stealing the man of another woman who has been abused and gaslit? I mean you'd have to be a pretty sadistic person to have that be your "go-to" for romance.
