The excuse of language is really weak because she already understands quite a bit of the empire's language. She's not new to nobility either so she should already know how announcements work. They don't call two unrelated people's names. If she was actually intelligent, she would have heard only her name and realized that her husband's name was not called out which means that Kaleid is the man next to her. I wouldn't care so much about her missing the fact that he is Kaleid if they didn't show her being smart in everything except this one thing. And I assume that the atelier was speaking to her in the empire's language anyways since she is from another country/province/whatever so she definitely grasps the language. If not, I dunno why there is so much switching between the two languages and when each language is being spoken.
