If you're going back to the old chapters searching for every instance of Hinako's "Aunt" appearing like I did, notice that every time Hinako texted with an aunt it was the Ooshima one, because this chapter just confirmed that Aunt Tomori has a different profile picture than this ocean image. This means that whoever is the the Aunt from Ooshima has been technically the second character to ever appear in this story, earlier than even Shiori in Chapter 1.

Could Hinako's Aunt from Ooshima be the woman who gained immortality through Shiori? After all, it was never made clear whether the explosion actually managed to kill her.

Under the (very likely assumption) the tanuki is right about her being human, it should be all but confirmed now. No way the young girl we saw last time started pretending to be hinakos aunt before the series even started unless she is immortal. And the only reason a human would be interested in hinako before the series started is because hinako got shioris blood and that human shares a connection with shiori.

Of course the tanuki could be wrong and she is a monster that used mikos way of slipping into hinakos life. but seems unlikely another monster started doing this before the series even started.
