If I could add onto this, I'd like it if the "hero" was just a supporter of the prince and wasn't trying to steal the price away. He and his friend thought she wasn't happy with the price, so the "hero" decided to break things up with the prince.

Them making the hero poisoning the prince is just a hand wave that is getting old real quick.

I try not to dislike things because it didn't go how I wanted it to go, but I feel like the story would've been a lot more satisfying if it was more of a breakup -> find new love tale rather than your typical "oh she actually gets the prince in the end and the Other Girl is evil".

Like, we've seen the "Heroine" archetype just be used for Secret Bitch like 30 times now and it would've been fun to me if she was just a bubbly girl that the prince fell for and they had to break up. The art carries this one, its extremely expressive and cute.

I would have liked it more if the crown prince hadn't come to the conclusion that she disliked him. The scenes when they're together they seem a little awkward but have good chemistry. There would be no reason for him to think she hated him. It's not like she would have been subtle about her dislike if she actually didn't want the engagement.

Especially it makes me side eye him a bit for never like...ACTUALLY CLARIFYING things with her first. Like instead they're just both doing their own thing and hurting each other instead of usual courtship stuff the kiddos in these stories sometimes do.

Thank goodness for that childhood friend, I wouldve gotten so mad if ml continued waxing lyrical about how much he loves the fl without explaining wtf he was playing at.😭
