- One full panel of holding back her laughter
- Full body foreground shot, same plane with MCs

The way the maid is drawn is very suspicious, it's like the authors are hinting her importance in the story rather than just showing that she exists.

He still seemed uninterested and bored everytime he met up with her though. To the point she started faking a smile.

Agreed. This is a dumb ML incapable of proper communication. Unless that changes and he matures, it's likely this kind of crisis will happen again.

Let's be real the Prince here is the idiot and is the one causing misunderstandings, if he cleared it out then it would have been better. I don't really get people sometimes why they chose to not clear the misunderstanding.

Actually it wasn't the male lead's fault. The female lead didn't investigate the rumors "at all" because she didn't want to find out the "truth". He said it to the readers himself. He always took care to speak with her *only* in the presence of others. He never got close to her in a one on one basis except for the "one time" when she was first lost. Basically the female lead was thinking dark thoughts all on her own and speaking about it to him but, he couldn't understand why because he was doing *exactly* the right moves to prove he wasn't being unfaithful at all.

Basically rumors were spread even without him actually doing anything to start the rumors basically everything was exaggerated well beyond the limits of truth. If he talked to the Baron's Daughter in a public place in full view of everyone. It suddenly would become a rumor about him having telling her to have a secret tryst with him in private later. Basically the lies and rumors were so outlandishly divorced from reality that if you looked into it even a tiny bit the rumor would fall apart. But the girl was super afraid of the rumors being true so she could only "chide him" for doing it so close to their wedding day. She had a low self esteem but, his stoic reactions helped to stir up that nagging feeling in her mind.

@Nemuyu If someone pays you a visit only to tell you that your behavior is wrong, you will get annoyed at a moment or another. Even if you love this person dearly. And it's even more annoying when you believe that you're doing nothing wrong, and that you can't find what could possibly be wrong ! That's why I can understand the Prince's behavior toward his fiancee.

For the female lead, I believe that she learned how to keep a collected figure since she was the Prince's fiancee, learning how to act as a (future) Queen. It's not like you could be open about your feelings. Royals have to know how to stay calm and composed. So she started to be somewhat distant to him even before the appearance of the heroine.

And like @Lelouchezero, I don't understand why are you all saying that it's the Prince's fault. He did nothing wrong, acted like he was supposed to regarding his rank. All right, he IS an idiot for not hearing about the rumors. But this whole misunderstanding isn't his fault. So why should he solve the problem alone? He wasn't even aware of the rumors in first place.

His fiancee should have been a little more honest, they're childhood friends after all. She has a low self-esteem, alright, I know this. But it's not because of this that you (yes, you, the reader) can dump everything on the Prince! The best way to solve this problem should have been for them to talk together, solve the misunderstanding between them and then with everyone else.

Just a quick reminder: being in a relationship doesn't mean you can dump the entire responsibility on your partner and expect things to move!

Anyway, it was a good chapter, one of the best in this series. The art is great, and the story is good. 10/10 would recommend

Ugh, I swear all ML's literally can't see that they are royalty/high-ranking noble. Similar to celebrities nowadays, anything you say or do can be rapidly interpreted in a way that it's uncontrollable, despite you not having the intentions to do so. The ML is always in the spotlight, and with female friends being seen as potential spouses, it could easily start false rumors.
The male lead of this one doesn't have that particular problem though.

He was never with the baron's daughter alone, behind closed doors, or in secluded locations. Nothing he did would normally cause any rumours. Even in Victorian Britain, prudish as it was. (To clarify, in the circumstances described, the baron's daughter would be considered at best careless and at worst loose for not being careful to remain with her female escort — then referred to as a "chaperone," being a respectable female relation, family friend, or even governess — when no extenuating circumstance could logically cause them to lose track of one another. Meanwhile, the prince would be considered at best heedless and at worst a cad for leaving a young lady alone without the safety of an escort, but he would also be suspected of immoral behaviour if he had not made precautions to avoid being alone with or meeting the young lady in private.) While the degree to which actual historical Western standards apply depends on the author, more likely than not, the prince nearly had a catch-22 on his hands when he first met the baron's daughter and he handled it pretty damn well.

Most likely, the rumours which
were there hadn't spread very far and had yet to reach his ears. With the female lead's memories, it is heavily implied that the creation and progress of rumours was the doing of the baron's daughter and was controlled and completely intentional. (Alternatively, the prince and his staff could be completely oblivious and the baron's daughter be completely delusional — that's rather unlikely.)

What you were saying would in practice be like claiming that two people meeting solely in public occasions means that they're somehow romantically involved and then blaming the more famous of the two for the results. Because an influential person being in the public eye somehow does not put their formally-betrothed partner or spouse also in the public eye (today, such individuals have to take measures to avoid that automatically happening); and supposedly any fault with respect to rumours is mostly or entirely on the better-known party, irrespective of how the rumour started. You might want to rethink your criteria a bit.

That aside, the actual problems this couple has are the female lead's assumptions and low self-esteem, the male lead's lack of investigation (he is heir apparent), and the lack of proper communication between them both. Good thing the prince's valet is a superb wingman, even if he is also a total gadfly.

If this were longer than a cute single-chapter thing, I'd be more thoughtful of the consequences of, "You made an item that can give people the ability to read minds?" But within the scope of this, it's an amusing enough way to address the most common pitfall of these types of stories and actually getting a fumbling couple to communicate. It's a cute enough scene to enjoy.

For my reference, the best to worst so far:
1-2, 2-3, 2-4, 2-2, 2-1, 1-4, 3-1, 2-6, 1-5, 1-3, 2-5, 1-1
