Point: Volume 2 focuses on the gamer heroine, Kichijoji Meru. Around 70% of the story is basically an FPS tournament. If you like battle royale games like APEX, you’ll probably get where the fun if already played. Hopefully next volume shifts more focus to Chinana, with more drama, and gives more clues about who sent the childhood photo of the MC and the heroines, plus the woman claiming to be the MC’s ex.
In Volume 2, Meru has already been the MC’s contract girlfriend for 2 months, and yeah, she was the one pushing for it.
NEW Character:
Meru Friend: Harin (Pro gamer from Korea)
★ Shikimi finds a clue that the photo sent to his email was taken on a desk inside Meru’s room. After getting advice from Kikuri, he’s told to check her room and look for the photo.
★ Since Shikimi is used to cleaning Meru’s messy room, he uses that chance to search for it. He checks her closet, nothing. Then he looks under the bed and instead finds Meru’s underwear just randomly stuffed in a box. He thinks the photo is hidden under that pile, so without thinking much, he pulls everything out, and Meru catches him.
★ Meru immediately tells Shikimi to get out. Inside, she feels relieved because the photo she hid behind her wardrobe wasn’t found.
★ Meru joins a female-only FPS tournament, Vacant Blank Global Series Possibility Garden, VBGS PG. Kikuri explains the tournament system and game mechanics in detail in the novel.
★ Meru teams up with Exiz and M4ine from Team Alpha Planet to chase the pro league.
★ Alpha Planet already passed nationals and is now competing in the Asia tournament for a spot in the world stage. The start wasn’t smooth. Meru feels a lot of pressure from fans and people around her, which affects her performance, she can’t play like usual.
★ Shikimi tells Meru that pressure is something only she can handle herself. He can’t fully understand what she feels, but he’ll always listen and be there when she needs to relax. Meru can’t show her weak side to fans, but she can show it to Shikimi. Thanks to him, she regains confidence and asks him to be her mental coach.
★ Early group matches go smoothly, then comes the next stage. Unexpectedly, Meru meets her old friend from Korea, the one who introduced her to gaming and pushed her to become a pro.
(Harin was the only classmate who saved Meru from loneliness, the only one who talked to her and introduced her to games.)
★ Harin’s team is called TYM. Their strategy is reading the final circle and holding high ground, waiting for enemies to come, basically camping.
★ Besides facing TYM, Alpha Planet also has to change their character lineup because of a patch that suddenly changes one of their main characters. Hotaru, who usually tracks enemies, can’t see through fog anymore, so they switch to a character that can summon an eagle to scout.
This sudden change messes up their teamwork, and they even argue, Exiz insists on the new character, while M4ine wants the old one since Exiz isn’t used to it yet.
★ This gets resolved later by Meru. She’s unsure what to do, so she asks her brother and Shikimi. Shikimi tells her the answer is hers alone, she just needs to speak honestly about what she’s thinking and be brave enough to share her plan.
★ After that, Meru suggests using a new character, Yami, her favorite. Yami used to be a must-pick, but after many nerfs, nobody uses her anymore. Thanks to this, Alpha Planet catches up and gets second place to move on.
(Before this, there’s also a scene where Shikimi directly asks Meru about the photo. She says she knows about it but doesn’t want to explain yet, she’ll talk after winning the tournament. When asked about her feelings, she doesn’t answer directly, instead hints that he should already know from how she acts, like getting close and trying to hold his hand.)
★ In the finals, any team that reaches 50 points gets a chance to become champion. But even if they hit 50, they still need Determination or the match won’t end.
★ Meru’s team almost gives up because they’re far behind TYM. TYM already has 50 points and just needs Determination, while Meru’s team is stuck at 19. During the break, Shikimi even begs security just to meet her. After a call from Ranka, Meru goes to him and brings him to the waiting room.
★ Shikimi sees Meru like a small animal scared of something bigger and stronger. To her, everyone looks stronger right now. She argues that Shikimi doesn’t understand players since he’s just a spectator, but he says her thinking is too narrow. Other people aren’t as strong as she thinks, and spectators can see things players can’t. She doesn’t get it at first, but after seeing Harin, she understands.
Harin looks cheerful while motivating her team, but when she walks away, her face shows a lot of pressure. Meru realizes spectators can see players’ expressions, something players themselves don’t notice.
★ That gives Meru a boost. She comes up with a bold plan, telling her team to go aggressive and wipe out everyone they see. They manage to get Determination, and after the fifth match, Alpha Planet reaches 55 points, giving them a chance at the title.
★ In the end, TYM wins. The 1v1 against Harin ends with Meru losing because she runs out of ammo. But Harin doesn’t feel like she truly won. TYM stands for “To Yeogiseo Mannayo”, meaning “let’s meet here again”, basically inviting Meru to face her again.
Back in Korea, they were on the same team until Meru got recruited as a pro and had to leave. Harin felt jealous and frustrated at first, wondering why only Meru got picked even though they both worked hard. But she never hated her, she acknowledges Meru’s talent and wants to train harder to reach her level.
Last drama
★ Even though Meru loses and only gets second place, she still talks about the childhood photo. Turns out she doesn’t remember her past at all. The photo wasn’t taken by her either, it had been in her room for a long time. That room used to belong to her adoptive mother, so the photo was probably taken before she moved rooms about a year ago. The woman claiming to be Shikimi’s ex is actually the first one who remembers their past, so Meru isn’t that woman since she has no memory of it.
★ As for her feelings, it’s clearly stated that Meru loves Shikimi. Shikimi can’t accept it because he doesn’t want to become like his father, too dependent on women. But Meru’s feelings don’t change, her heart races around him, her eyes always follow him, and she even loses focus in games because she keeps thinking about him. That night, Meru tries to sleep with him, but Shikimi manages to stop her. Still, she forces a deep kiss. She asks him to be her boyfriend, and since he can’t really refuse, they agree to a contract relationship.
If either wants to break up, or thinks it’s better, they end it.
No restricting each other’s actions at all.
Not just for Meru, both won’t go beyond kissing with anyone else.
This contract lasts for 2 months.

I feel like there's a good (i.e. 100%) chance that his dark haired friend is actually the 4th sister and she's the one who sent the photo.
