I love how closely this chapter adapts the volume 1 prologue of Index, just from Misaka's perspective. The dialogue is almost one to one even.

I love how closely this chapter adapts the volume 1 prologue of Index, just from Misaka's perspective. The dialogue is almost one to one even.

It's great that this adapts that conversation well enough, but I prefer how the anime handled the Level Upper arc and left this scene out.

Here Mikoto says she already knows about the clones using her DNA and even that their codename is "Imouto", but during the Sisters arc it's shown she only heard rumors about it and is completely disgusted by the idea of being cloned so she wouldn't casually mention it.

While the Sisters Arc retconned their conversation in the bridge, keeping mostly in touch with the anime adaptation of Vol 1 Index where Mikoto just gives a brief explanation of the power system for the sake of the audience without mentioning her clones, I think not having her mention cloning here makes for a better narrative.
