Suspension of disbelief but this is so much bullshit. Don't they know the appeal of having a tomboy singer? It appeals to both men and women. No band will pass on that if they could.

How do you make protagonists want to live a normal life?

Their thinking is coventional and not outside of the box. That's why Tomose couldn't become a successful singer like Lana Del Rey. ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

You know what i just noticed? Usually in shoujo manga when a girl dresses as a dude, even when everyone know she is a girl, it makes all the girls panties go wet...why not here, and dont tell me its cuz this is a more realistic manga, cuz it fucking isn't

The problem isn't that tomose is a girl, it's that she blew it by telling the girl who confessed to her about it. Had tomose kept quiet about it and just flatly rejected her with any excuse there would be no problems. Also if tomose had told the guy that she was a girl from the beginning she may have gotten the band popular like that as well unless the guy didn't think nicely of tomose after hearing what gender she was and didn't allow her to be in the band.

I SO want an anime of this, just to hear the voice actor they cast as Tomose.

Admit it, you want to know what the big deal with Tomose's voice is, don't you? What does she sound like? Is it just a husky Bea Arthur, or Susanne Pleshette, or does she sound like freaking Barry White?!

For gods sake, how much more pointless drama does this trashfire need?

One of the most famous singers in my country has, actually, a female like voice, and he has been singing since 1971. This drama makes no sense.

While it is indeed forced drama, let’s not forget that these are also middle schoolers, which usually mean they don’t think very deeply into things. Maybe that band leader dude have a goal of making a boy-only band, maybe that’s what this “deal” company want, maybe he is sexist, etc. Getting all dramatic over that single fact, while not unrealistic, is pretty far-fetched in the end.
