Yknow the plot about Amane trying to fix the school clock while Tsukasa watches, and later down the line for unknown reason, Amane killed Tsukasa and himself and become supernatural?

Maybe that have relation to how the red house isn't as vicious in the main timeline. Maybe Amane doing things is what makes the thing in the red house unable to go outside
Amane working on the clock is the biggest mystery outside the happenings of this particular arc so far. Why did he do it? He must have messed with time while being alive, because Spider Sensei said the original future had Amane living to become a teacher (like right now). Time is ultimately at the center of this story, and I bet we're getting answers. I really think this is going to be the penultimate arc. All the other mysteries have been dealt with. Once the clock keeper yorishiro is gone. All that will be left is Tsukasa and Sakura.

And man, this chapter has some great shots all around. I think the author cooked too hard with the panel composition.

  • Kou saving Nene means the House' will can be resisted, even if temporarily.
  • Kou talking about how Hanako has killed people and Nene being smart enough to question how he knows. He's one of Amane's victims so of course he does. But he doesn't seem angry about it. Just said.
  • His arm being see through on Nene's shoulder.

But the highlight has to be Teru's reaction. From 34-37, he starts standing, then falls on his knees with his fists on the rim, then finally slumped over the well. Even as the focus is on Akane, his legs gave out. I think big bro might've speedran through the 3 stages of grief right there.

I can finally articulate exactly why this chapter is so uniquely upsetting. Take away all the magic, and this is just a serial killer story with the family members and friends stumbling onto the victims' mangled bodies all clumped together in a well. Holy shit.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT
I seriously hope the clock keepers get one hell of a beating for this, I won't forgive them!!

A thought occurs. When they return to the previous timeline are they gonna remember what happened in this timeline? :worry:

HOly shit.

I'm at loss for words.

If they remember this timeline... I don't even know how Teru and Kou will be.

Edit:

Something about how the chapter isn't overtly revealing the details just made it even more upsetting. The contents of the well left to our imagination. Teru. OH dear GODS Teru. Did he even hesitate? Take a second to process what he was seeing, steel himself for what he was about to do? Man, this arc is just putting the Minamoto family back into the trauma grinder.

...Jeez this chapter blew up... but for fair reason... I am not okay; between this and Arcane.... imma just kms. Kou better get redemption when they go back to the original timeline. Nene has gone through too much. Teru and Akane better have the most epic battle with the entity and the Clock Keepers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the entity consumed all the other 7 mysteries, except Tsuchigomori who probably remembers the old world but knows it's not him with the power to change it.

Anyway... I'm depressed...

Kou really said "I have to go now. I can't just leave him on his own, can I?" and it's making me want to commit chapter 48
Why is he so happy to die together with Mitsuba? T-T Kou honey, please, you're breaking my heart

Edit: Also the way you can see Teru collapsing at the well! He's standing first, then kneeling, and at the last panel, he's holding himself up with only one arm. Love to see this level of detail, but poor Teru, this is every big sibling's worst nightmare. I'm sure it's no question now that they're going back to the old world now.

Just two additions based on the comments I've read:
Amane is not a serial killer (at least from my understanding). He's just a puppet of the thing haunting the red house.

Was this timeline supposed to be a happy one? As far as I remember, the clock keepers only intended to "fix" the situation with increasing supernatural activity at school. While we've barely been at this timeline's school I think (checking older chaps) in chapter 115 Nene didn't find any supernaturals there.
Thinking about it now though, I wonder if Nene's lifespan in this world is longer. If so, the clock keepers might be in cahoots with Hanako, although I don't expect the author to pull the same story twice so that's probably a no...

My heart!!! 😭💔

I did think it was suspicious that Kou was back to normal when he was caught by Amane the chapter before, but I was too caught up in the excitement of it all to think too much about it.

Im so sad for Kou and his family!
This should have been the best timeline for all of them!! Teru probably saw his little brothers dead body down there.💔

I wish i had nothing to complain about, but it always irked me how much of a damsel in distress Nene is. Always a little naïve, or needing someone else to explain things to her. I love her character, I do, but girls always get this treatment in manga! I wish the boys wouldn’t hog all the moments to act cool or smart.
Nene being a dolt throughout really is a weakness of the writer. It's like they don't know how to write someone who's optimistic, even bubbly without making them really dumb. Even worse because she's not only the female lead and the main character, but really the only consistent female character.

No, it was explicitly meant to rectify the issue with Tsukasa and whatever came of him. Akane was left behind to put things back in case matters became worse even in general, such as students dying. That was a literal example Akane gave several chapters ago. There are more victims than ever so this is definitely not acceptable by Kako's standards.

Ah yep, you're right (ch. 111 for anyone wanting to jog their memory like me).
But nowhere does it mention happiness, they're trying to resolve the Tsukasa matter for the greater good, not out of consideration for anyone affected. From the beginning, it doesn't really seems like the Yugi twin's situation has an easy solution:
One of them has a deadly(?) illness, so unless they can manage to cure him either Tsukasa would make a sacrifice or Amane dies. On the other hand, the thing sealed under the red house could only be sealed away, so there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get rid of it entirely either.
The most realistic course of action would probably be: Keep everyone away from the red house. Amane dies. And well, from here on out you'd have to hope this doesn't lead to Tsukasa ending in an even worse situation.
The real question is to which extent the clock keepers can manipulate the past. Sure, they can alter the flow of time, but can they also affect the future or only revert those where they don't like how things developed. And even if they can have an impact on how events unfold, I'd assume their top priority is to stay "alive", meaning they'll probably be rather careful...

In before we discovered the main timeline is actually a messed up timeline by Amane, and the timeline we are now the right timeline after the clockeeper fix the anomaly.

Yknow that makes me think, maybe Mitsuba isn't trapped/get exorcised first since Kou said he'll join him after getting exorcised.

Yeah it's just me coping, hoping they're at least happy in the afterlife
