How are you surprised at being a model after they've put the costume on you?

Honestly, this has a bit of an "and everyone clapped" feel to it.

Its also nice having a male MC that you can see why the FMC would be into him, too many are so bland or "beta" that you wonder what they see in them.

But they're so nice, and isn't that enough? I mean, in the settings they exist in, it is a relatively unique trait, since everyone else is portrayed as an asshole just to make the MC look nice.

I also wonder if haunted houses are really scary.

Some people are easily scared. Some people like being scared, to the point they will placebo themselves into being scared.
