Ight cool, now say it to his face when he's awake, otherwise....don't even bother
Nah, not good enoughEh, good enough. I’ll take what I can get.
Yeah this is actually a really interesting chapter, because its the first time we've seen her be anything other than mysteriously carefree. That she's honestly frustrated with herself and feeling some kind of pain when she realizes that he missed something he was looking forward to because she hurt herself is a massive clue to all this.I'm surprised no one mentioned the tears. They did not look like happy tears when she asked why he's persistently kind to her.
That, and her being perfect at work where personal connections don't go very deep, yet living alone, and her saying "this is the best I can do" alongside her confession seems like a dark mix.
Her ex was pretty shitty. The dude forced his own idea of a perfect woman on her and she ended up having to force herself and act like at work 24/7. She was completely burned out and exhausted since he basically wanted a maid caretaker chef he could bang.I dunno if she felt anything before he had moved in since he didn't really see the real her.
I do think that after he moved in and started to see the real her she got comfortable around him and started to look at him as more than a friend and potentially get feelings. We see there are hints of of this throughout the series where she does something that could be misinterpreted, but maybe she was being sincere and actually feels that way towards him. It is her whole real self that isn't as reliable that holds her back from committing to it. She doesn't think that a person such as our MC could be interested in her that way because he constantly has to take care of her AND she is unreliable. She has no confidence that ANYONE would be interested in her romantically. Plus she had an ex and I don't recall the reason they broke up (but it might be because of the way she is) so that might have skewed her perspective.
If she did harbor feelings for him that she never wanted to say out loud BECAUSE of her own lack of confidence that no one would want to be with her then the wall finally got knocked down this chapter. Her bluntly asking him why he always helps her if she is so hopeless and his response of because he is there she can be herself means that he accepts her for who she is and the realization on her face means she can now be honest with herself.
Of course, this could be reading WAY too into it and the reality is next chapter the author will pull a fast one about the like thing and we are back to square one. I REALLY hope that what I said above is the reason, though, as it would frame everything in a different light.
To be fair it's not like we were starved of development in between this scene and that, we at least had marin being forwardYeah. We know how long it took after THIS scene...
Yeah, I went back and reread the chapters with the ex and damn was he a shithead. And then wanting to get back together with her..yeah no.Her ex was pretty shitty. we obviously know how sloppy and laid back Tokimori san is at home so he ended up dumping her when she couldnt keep up.
Im thinking, since we never really see things from her pov, she always liked him but never actively thought she could get with anyone. Specially after her breakup she must've thought nobody could accept her.
Something like: "I cant get with him but I can at least help him out in a time of need and be closer. I can be satisfied with just that"

I can totally see an idea that she more or less thought he found her really annoying this whole time. Unable to do anything other than work, constantly needing help to do basic chores or common tasks, always getting in trouble or hurting herself or doing something wrong... and it wasn't until he explicitly said that she doesn't have to worry because he is there that she opened up her heart enough to admit she's in love.
