I'm honestly reading this just for these kind of moments man. Same reason why I watch jojo. Because I know, no matter how bad the happening is, at last second "stardust crusader" or "diamond is unbreakable" would start playing, and the jojos would say, "you think you've won, but you didn't notice I turned your hat into a beetle five minutes ago..." You read shonen fightan manga to watch the MC beat the heck out of some villains in five pages non stop punching, and you watch gambling manga to see the main character smirks and say "you think you've won, but actually..."

I read a lot of gambling manga and honestly, this manga has one of the more satisfying/cathartic "turnabout" moments (that's what I always call these moments, because Phoenix Wright's turnabout would start playing).

@Fri I 100% agree. The entire point of this manga from the get-go was "instant ecstasy when you realise the mc was winning all along" God I love that feeling.

He should have just lost honestly then he could have been built up as a character and go through hell to win again like this just feels like an ass pull

I only recently found this series, and while I liked it overall, honestly I was starting to get a little iffy on the twists and writing. But damnnnn if that wasn't a crafty play. Well played and well done with the planning that went into this, that was one hell of a 180.

I almost forgot that he bought the observer. This is how you write an MC that always wins. Winning in an interesting way against intresting enemies.

the problem here is that this only works because the mafia are complete morons

these guys are yakuza loansharks and you are telling me they actually got tricked into signing a contract?

Actually not just them, everyone did, including the cult guys which we just spend multiple chapters harping about how they can't make choices
