Hey everyone! I'm going to try finishing the next chapter as well. Just a heads-up - the next one is the final chapter in Volume 1. There won't be any updates until I get my hands on Volume 2 (which isn’t available yet). Thanks so much for reading this far!

Oh. Now we know where the title comes from. It seems that not everyone is lucky enough to look like a "globe", a "potato" child has appeared! The graffiti guy looks like a typical beasebal player, huh...i expected him to look crazier~:nyoron:💦
Thks for the tl~

it makes sense it was someone in the town rather than a tourist who randomly showed up for the festival

Wonder if he's been seeing it for a long time and just now speaking up, if not hit by a stray ball or so and saw it after , if not a similar issue with the MC of their relative leaving or so

The first chapter did say something about his team going to Koshien. These thing clearly has a connection to people that leaves the place

They also said that since then he's been, "ruining people's goodbyes," referring to him standing in front of the trains taking people away.

My guess is that's sort of a form of protest? Like he can't get anyone to listen so he goes, "Cool, watch me get 'run over' by your stupid train that doesn't fucking exist."

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when MC's sister comes home for the holidays.

I wonder if it's weird that MC and her friends don't know the whole, "Kobutori Jiisan," story.

As far as I can tell "Tonari no Jiisan," is part of the Kobutori Jiisan story? Like it's one of those fairy tales that goes:

1. Protagonist does wacky shit -> success
2. Another character tried to copy antagonist -> hilarious failure.

Last chapter headphones guy included "Kobutori no Jiisan," in a list with a bunch of other folktales that I'm pretty sure are equivalent to Cinderella, the 3 little pigs, red riding hood, etc. in terms of how well known they are in Japan. Like a lot of people who aren't particularly interested in fairy tales could tell them with no prep.
