Thanks for the chapter!

Also @Dingo777 I swear you're in the comments of every series I'm reading lmao.
Dingo, Mangamoz and SkyRavager are among the names I've come to recognize or even expect to see in the comment sections I lurk too lol

Thank you so much for the translation!

It feels so good that he worried and actually went after her. When I was in my middle teens, I might have noticed and even worried, but I would have never had the courage to act on it. "What if I am a nuisance? What if I read the situation wrong? They probably really want help from someone else." It is hard to be a teen. Even more so in a manga.

There I was, going about my day and "oh, new chapter of my cute cat rom com is out."

Now I'm sad and having whiskey with my toast and eggs.

Woah, the quiet female lead is actually getting serious character development and has actual depth to her character outside of just being cute and shy? In my manga???

Seriously though, while the chapter is a little sad, im glad the author is actually tackling her personality, rather than just leaving it as a predefined character trait. Her being so into cats and so not into people isn't 'a cute quickly side of her', it's a symptom of her issues socializing.

When I consider a similar manga - Komi-san, that one really just used the social awkwardness as some gimmick for laughs, if never really got the heart of it in a serious, realistic manner.

What's happening here is much more real and isn't about awkwardness or just being bad with people, she's clearly 'running away', it's asocial behavior. Something really interesting to seriously tackle in a manga. I'm all here for it!
I agree with most of this except the komi awkwardness being a gimmick part, having the komi manga just about to finish and I'm wondering did we read the same manga? Her awkwardness isn't just played for laughs its literally the central driving force of that plot and throughout the series she slowly but surely learning to be more out going and getting her feelings across. Like yes its part comedy but her struggle to interact with people is treated pretty seriously.

I’m fairly certain she overheard only the last part between the owner and Seno ("Wouldn’t it be better if she didn’t come to the cafe at all?") and didn’t realise that the conversation the two were having, and the question asked, was out of concern for her, not because some negative feelings towards her.

What’s discouraging about Komi is that you could cut roughly 60-80% of the manga and would not be worse off. As a whole the series often focusses on comedy and parody to a much higher and longer degree than the romance and characterisation part. If that’s a reader’s preference, more power to them, but if it’s not, well, then they are a bit unlucky, or had the wrong expectations.
