On one hand, it's disappointing.
On the other, I actually find feeding the goddesses to be quite fun. They need the novelty and their excitement over it is fun.

Makes me wonder if some kind of arrangement could be made where they just share a meal every day.

He can't explore the world if he buys a house... unless he can put the house into his inventory. A house in every town? It probably costs a bit more than what he gets for selling materials.
He mentions in ch3 p13 that he won't stay in town for long. With that in mind, he also chooses to avoid getting himself entangled with the local lord and the kingdom, and so took measures such as hiding Feru's identity at first.

What he needed from a town was money for his online shopping. He needs to shop to feed Feru and now, for the goddesses too.

Buying a house in every town would be unfeasible if he were to be traveling. And doesn't he have to pay taxes for it? He has to sell the house once he leaves. If he's gonna do that every time, then an inn would do fine.

@jonsmth @JWChibi If Inn is not feasible(no inn that can accommodate Feru) he can rent a house. The environment would suffer if they stay too long. He could also use earth magic to create a temporary house like he did in the past chapters.

I think you underestimate how much money he makes vs how cheap what he buys is.
And even if that wasn't the case, he could just rent. He could find a house he likes, throw money at the occupants and tell them to stay at an inn for a few days.

@JWChibi: It does cost money to maintain a house and he is traveling, so I guess, that as long as he doesn't settle down, renting is less costly for him. Though, buying houses and renting them out yourself and keeping them managed by a good, hired manager, might actually be a good investment. (But it would require him to come around ever so often to keep things checked.)

It suddenly occured to me. MC does have a harem. (Aside from best boy Sui and fenrir-pal Feru) The goddesses. If you think about it, they do act a little bit like high maintenance GFs.

The suggestion I responded to specifically said that he buy a house at every town. I don't think he or the ecosystem would be able to afford that kind of spending.

Is there guarantee that some house would have a bathroom? It'd probably have to be some rich guy's estate. If he's gonna go through all the trouble of renting, he could just stay at an inn. He got his own bathtub now anyway. I imagine taking a dip while sipping on some cross-dimensional sake under the starry night sky safely in the wilderness is a luxury on its own.

Furthermore, not being tied to anyone (or the land) and being able to leave without a moment's notice would be essential if he wants to sate his wanderlust in a new world. I only mentioned his daily expenses to explain the reason why he made a pitstop in the first place despite his goals.
