Too many obviously unnecessary duplicate entries

Lately there has been a stream of duplicate entries (particularly fantasy series) that seems to be a single individual or handful that won't check if an entry for many series already exists. I'm talking author, artist, art, or links are usually the same. Easily verifiable stuff. It'll primarily just be the language for the title and/or description are completely different, so I guess they aren't even bothering to search for alternate titles before submitting, though from what I've seen any title would work so really the bare minimum isn't being done.

I mean just look at a handful of very recent ones.

This is ridiculous.

It has become such a nuisance that if meaningful action isn't taken it will slowly degrade this site's catalog integrity by splitting up chapter submissions and causing confusion over time, as long as the offender(s) persist. I'm not familiar with what goes into the series entry submission process, but it's a problem that so many are getting erroneously published even clearly being against site rules at a quick glance. Whoever is making the duplicate submissions needs to put as much effort into double checking as they have been polluting the site with junk. There's no way for a normal user to do anything but report each duplicate instance, which is cumbersome considering the amount it's happening and uncertainty in actions taken to rectify. Most of them are flying under the radar without much initial traffic. I try to report duplicates as I catch them, but it seems like work on reports have been backed up, so who knows how long it'd take to address this while the issue continues to fester. If there's a reason why new entries are needed, then it should be resolved through removal and/or merging, though that's hard to imagine considering some of the duplicates are for fairly new series that were added initially not too long ago. I really don't understand the intent. It's a waste of time for everyone. Even if this particular situation is resolved, it seems like there's no mechanism to prevent it from continuing to happen. It's essentially down to the honor system and whether there's enough time in the approval/review process for every single thing to be verified, which is why it's imperative for submitters to actually do the bare minimum due diligence. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Some user roles in MangaDex have auto approval privileges for drafts, so there's a chance these didn't even went thru the approval queue.

However, there's definitely been an uplift of duplicate entries lately.

We will appreciate if you report all duplicates you find via the site report feature so a moderator can look into them.
