Wait, people were doubting she is a girl? I think that generally, outside of family, Kogane doesn't have many male friends because most of them are probably married (hence why her conundrum in the opening of the series that no one wants to marry her because she is too old in her village).Last Page: Yes, Mugi-chan is a girl!
Jorogumo?Maybe spider?
If you go north enough. My home country only sports a single species, which is extremely rare. There are places with no cicadas in summer?
We have them in my state but they are far from the omni present force they are in japan. There are places with no cicadas in summer?
I am in southern California, US, and we never have enough cicadas for you to actually notice them. I think that's the case for most of the Western US and Canada, barring the occasional 17 year brood. There are places with no cicadas in summer?
Crazy, i hear them every summer and given i live close to a forest they get really really annoying at nightI am in southern California, US, and we never have enough cicadas for you to actually notice them. We have them where I live, in the Southeast US, but you can't hear them over the hundreds and hundreds of croaking frogs at night.Crazy, i hear them every summer and given i live close to a forest they get really really annoying at night

It was a little uncertain in the first couple of chapters with her because nobody referred to her in a way that confirmed her gender (and I think she was using one of the pronouns that isn't necessarily gender-specific), so some people were cautious about picking a gender for her in case the intent was to be vague and the reveal was supposed to have meaning.
But it didn't and eventually it was pretty strongly implied, if not outright stated, that she's actually girl.
Which works because I'm totally here for cute freckle-fox waifu.
Yes, nobody in the manga has actually outright said that Mugi's a girl yet. No pronouns or gender references have been used for her even now. Revealing that Mugi is short for Komugi was a big hint, because that's pretty much a girl's name. And then me cheating by paging ahead to the swimsuit episodes confirms it, unless Mugi-chan's a boy fox with a female human form and let's not go there yet 😹 .It was a little uncertain in the first couple of chapters with her because nobody referred to her in a way that confirmed her gender (and I think she was using one of the pronouns that isn't necessarily gender-specific), so some people were cautious about picking a gender for her in case the intent was to be vague and the reveal was supposed to have meaning.
