A claim like that is going to be easily dismissed as superstition the further it starts to travel from Amamiya Tower's direct influence, at least at first. The orbital strike is definitely going to lend it some credence.
It's not like they know anything about it. Keep in mind MC has kept a lot of what has happened to him as a close secret, only known to those he trusts in the tower. Everyone else at most think of him as a messenger of the gods. Column King thinks he needs to strike now before he gets too powerful... without really understanding that ship sailed a looong time ago. I still think he's going to try infiltrate or spy inside the towers to get a better understanding of who he's really fucking with. Hopefully that will dispel further dumb ideas or else we get treated to see how much of an example he makes out of his kingdom (he might have been the first to attack, but we all know they're far from the only ones thinking about it.)
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they simply don't believe it.
"So yeah this guy that's controlling the Tower? Seems he made a temple where the gods came down to bless it personally. Oh and he became a Living God"
"...have you been drinking?"
I mean let's be honest, even some people "on" that continent partially didn't believe it and they fucked around and found out.

Okay, fair enough that they don't believe it...

It is rather unbelievable that a god is living in the world...

And he's also the only male god... which is probably unbelievable...

The excuse was that Amamiya tower is about to unify the central continent and he wanted to prevent that.
No idea how he thought that the status of a living god is worthless though...
Ikr they know the angel that threaten to level a town belong to them and their stupid reasoning to ignore that is "she won't interfere military battle" like what bruh where the fuck is your brain lol
Well he is a king and he can't handle someone standing above him not even a god. so he will earn a Darwin Award... soon, if he keeps it up

So it's less that the King is stupid and more the fact that the sh*t happening seems more unbelievable and probably some hoax religion...

In a world were gods never come down and all of them are female, this dude claims to be the sole male god and is living in the world...

Yeah I guess if you put it this way, it'll seem like "this cult guy who managed to capture the tower is now starting his own empire (even though they have Intel that the provinces on the continent aren't directly under him YET, AND that they are indeed affiliated with the gods) and we must do a show of force"

But like, aren't there other ways to do that than just drive your navy into their territory and start attacking?

Why is the list of people with “Fuck with a literal God” on their to-do list so long

Kosuke needs to start with lethal force just on the grounds that evolution seems to have short-circuited on this planet somehow and an alarming amount of people are being born without self-preservation instincts. Time to apply some selective pressure to the gene pool.

But they have no reason to actually believe the crazy BS... and he really is slowly conquering the world...

To be fair, he probably looks more like a cult leader building an Empire and they probably view it as political propaganda than actual truth...

I mean, the Churches promote that they are allowed to do anything and the gods are on their side...

And we know that's not true....

So they also probably believe it's fake.

They don't have enough actual evidence to believe if it's true....

He summoned all three godesses — simultaneously — when nobody in history had ever summoned even one of them before. He did this in front of a huge crowd of witnesses that included representatives of multiple nations. Then all three goddesses proclaimed him a living god, and all three of their churches put out official statements from their religious leaders saying “yeah, we checked it ourselves and that’s legit, the goddesses really said it and it’s really true.” The last place to blaspheme against him was visited by a literal angel who rained divine fury from the sky as punishment.

Those are facts. They’re verifiable.

The Empire is spitting in the eye of someone they absolutely know is a god, and are now surprised-pikachuing when it turns out there’s consequences for that sort of thing.

The concept of a nuclear orbital bombardment in the medieval ages is so funny
Only unlike in Civ, the knights can't hit your bombers with their swords (because wtf Sid?).
And a certain king seems to have rolled a 1 on his intelligence check. Oh well, he'll serve as an example to the rest. Or not.

Thanks for the chapter.

Are they actually verifiable for a king on another continent across the sea? Word doesn't travel as fast in medieval fantasy land, and it travels through an unreliable medium. The king's own people can't travel to the central continent anymore because of the barrier, so information is trickling out of the central continent only as fast as the continent's own merchants gossip. And merchants should know how valuable information is, and how valuable a monopoly is.

One continent ≠ the world

there are other towers on other continents, and IIRC he has stated that he doesn't have any intention to take over those. Dude has one "territory", and it's not even under his iron rule.

I get being cautious, but that's what diplomacy is for. Heck, if you're that worried, isn't it better to get the answer straight from the horse's mouth?

Not fully true.

The direct sources aren't easy for them to meet with to have something like face time, and even then, if they were conquered, they might lie as well....

Hell, even in the real world, when people claim to have seen the works of god, most of us in the West would never actually believe it...

You are mixing things up because you yourself actually know everything and you are feeling like it's logical...

But you are reading this manga, they aren't....

Horse's can't be trusted.... and it's less to conquer and more to intimidate....

Basically, they are trying to show off their power....

The problem with the King of the Cloumn Kingdom is that he knows of the Messenger incident. How much he actually knows only effects on his level of stupidity. Dealing with someone who can get a Messenger to act means that you need as much accurate information as possible or at least get someone stupid to poke and prod for you. Bet the other countries are letting this king do the latter.

Also, even if a Messenger never intervenes militarily, that doesn't prevent them from going to your capital to whip your ass while inciting rebellion or at worst raze the capital to the ground. Thus it is imperative to find out what caused the Messenger incident. If he even knows half of it, military action should be off the table. That is assuming he can process that much information.

I find it very satisfying to see the faces of these cocky bastards who think they are above all else gets their spirit broken with just a little demonstration of a difference in power.
