The MC seems like such a generic shonen protagonist, I think the trashy guy who just overcame his trauma is so much more interesting, show more of him

This manga's story is just... noob is all I can say. Plot is generic and the pacing is quite messy. I guess I'll stay a bit longer for the art. I just wish they would make more diverse characters, they're all just either one face or totally mob...

@311i3 Indeed, seems it's the mangaka 1st manga tho, so it's understandable... o3o

But I dunno, maybe it gets better with time since it's like so? I think most problems are the pacing and execution till now, some stiff art here and there... Maybe the mangaka grows in real time, and down the line it becomes really good and popular... The manga itself has potential at the very least o3o

Yeah I really hope so too, it certainly does have the potential. I wish they would do more world building, especially with regards to the story about momotaro and the oni. If this mangaka grows like Black Butler's mangaka I'm definitely sticking around for real- Yana Toboso's art at the beginning compared to now is like worlds apart, the improvement is just damn incredible to see.

I'm sure this mangaka will grow with experience and as they continue writing and drawing- hopefully I can last until then lol, not sure how much longer I can go with the art inconsistencies and story gaps.

man it gets more painful to read each chapter, I thought it was good at first but man, the plot is so messy and the pacing is annoyingly fast

this manga got a HELLLLLL LOT of potential.
They did a really great job with elements of the plot. It's a lil cliche but, oni and momotaro are pretty cool yknow.
But what this manga's lacking is
1) why are they just aimlessly fighting each other? There should be a deeper reason
2) pacing is a bit messed up
3) the lines are sometimes a bit unnatural while some lines are actually pretty good
4) consistency of character especially for the scared guy. He just did a 180 degree turn with his attitude. That's cool, but too quick. And it didn't take much for him to do that which is odd.
5) at the START of the manga, it is very confusing and pacing's more messed up.

Meanwhile, the art is outstanding. It's drawn well. And the characters each have a good design, and somewhat have a backstory each.

I feel like this could've blown up, and could have been something like, blue exorcist or even jujutsu kaisen tier if it was carried out well.
I hope they either improve the plot more or just do a remake. That would be great.

i was able to sympathize w mc's goal of just avenging his father A LOT more than the stupid ass one he latched onto just now. it's prob bc there was no clear urgency or raw emotion (anger, trauma, pain) shown in this situation imo. the whole i wanna eradicate all these ppl goal would hit diff if he was truly forced to that point.
