So kidnapping a guy who visited Geidontei was to put Miyoi in hot water so she'd ask Suika for help. Now that Miyoi owes Suika, they can have the bar be open to youkai in the after-hours.

I'd never suspected oni of trickery. Suika really is insincere as her game credits suggest.

a youkai bar smack dab in the middle of the human village
a very good concept for the rest of the manga.

Well, it's good she agreed.

I mean, ain't nobody in Gensokyo wants to be the enemy of Suika and Mamizou.

Should've just gone to Byakuren or made a deal with Moriyas.
Hell, I doubt Reimu would actually exterminate a Zashiki Warashi, a youkai WELCOMED by humans, that brings luck to houses that it lives in.

Aha, so, Suika was distracting Miyoi in the previous chapter. I see, I see
Though I don't believe Reimu would exterminate Miyoi if she asked for help. That's not my touhou.
Sooo...even humans in village know that gensokyo is made by youkai and for youkai. Interesting.
Seeing shocked Miyoi with a whale spouting water fountain in a background is hilarious.
Marisa is as always. Seeing Miyoi observing that break-in was hilarious too.

Can someone explain to me, what the hell is this contraption that Mamizou gives to Miyoi as a present?

God bless Suika. I burst out laughing when she was casually standing in front Geidontei like it's the most normal thing in the world to see an oni in the human village.

Oh hey, so Mamizou is gonna be a mainstay? She's always nice to have around to throw a wrench into things.
And as far as humans "knowing the truth about Gensoukyou", that seems to me to be intentional. If the humans think the village is a cattle ranch, they're more scared of the Youkai, which is what they're actually here for. Not to be eaten, but to keep the Youkai existing by fearing them.

@VINT64
It's a houseplant. More specifically some sort of long stemmed flower being supported by a trellis. Couldn't tell you what type of flower, though it does look familiar.

First, we have youkai shrine, then a youkai temple, then a youkai library (is suzunan cout as a youkai library) and now a youkai bar

Still, it sounds very segregated. Humans trapped in a world that does not advance technologically because it removes fear and weakens yoikai. It looks like a ranch like the man without a name said.

Only the yokai side is seen as positive by fans of the series.

Look, I've been following touhou for years.

Don't village humans know about the rules of Gensokyo? Or even the circumstances in which the villlage was founded? They're supposed to be descendants of ancient youkai hunters.

Come to think of it, why does Miyoi keep her nature secret when it was shown in WAHH that zashiki-warashis openly live in human houses? Did ZUN forget?

I mean it's been 145 years since Gensoukyou was sealed, pretty reasonable that not many people would know about the foundation of Gensoukyou after all that time. Especially since that information is kind of suppressed. Also it's mentioned that part of the village is made up of people who wander in and can't get out, and their descendants. Not like they would know what's up.

The important people know, like Akyuu and Reimu, but most people are kept in the dark. Probably, as mentioned in other manga, because if the villagers feel threatened they might rise up.

As for the Zashiki-Warashi, maybe Miyoi doesn't know that other Zashiki-Warashi are in the village.
Or maybe she thinks she'll be ostracized since she's been pretending to be human.
Or maybe her memory manipulating isn't typical of all Zashiki-Warashi and that makes it more difficult.

Youkai mafia gang strikes again

@ilikepi31415
I see that strategy as a gamble, enough redpilled humans could lead to an uprising that maybe get results OR get tiananmen'd by youkai instead and the key is, again, the mikos (hakureis are controled opposition but the newcomers (hijiri, miko, moriyas) hell not gonna be happy)
Also some obscure groups like the secret history association convenientely got forgotten by ZUN (or maybe this guy IS a member)

@SpiritedBreak2 This isn't the last chapter so I suppose it's Touhou drinking pals getting into shenanigans from here ? That'd actually be flirting with the setting of a handful of fan stories.
